Williams Improving

Williams is a great team, independent as it can be these days, BUT, to get back the glory days you just can't do what everybody else is doing and wait for results, you realy need something uniqe, radical and new, only than you can be ahead of the rest, they had couple ingeniuers back at 2003 and had a great unique front, they were fastest, from than they seemed to have fallen a sleep way deep

The Walrus nosecone didn't work though. They were faster with a normal nosecone.

I was talking about 2003 and Williams FW25 The design of the 2003 Williams FW25 was a marked evolution over its predecessor, the Williams FW24, something that Williams had not done between 2001 and 2002 due to the breakup of the previously successful Williams design team. New to the 2003 design team was ex-Ferrari aerodynamicist, Antonia Terzi, who worked with existing designer Gavin Fisher.

Although the car could have easily won its first Grand Prix during the Australian Grand Prix but for a costly spin by Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya, the car did not establish itself amongst the frontrunners on the grid until the Austrian Grand Prix where Montoya led before retiring with engine failure. Until that race, both drivers complained about understeer due to flaws in the car's design.

A new, wider front tyre introduced by Michelin at the Monaco Grand Prix unlocked the potential of the FW25, which would win that race, score a double-podium at the Canadian Grand Prix, then go on to score dominant 1-2 victories at the European Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, and the next race, the French Grand Prix at Magny-Cours.

every race, nico rosberg keeps on improving, they have still time to catch up the renaults...reabillity is the main issue for williams

I totally agree with you. Nico always goes well, up in the points but always seems to have reliability problems

Well their problem is Toyota's engine , it always brakes down. Williams is as a race- car much better than Toyota. They have better aero packet.....and Rosberg and Wurz are doing well.

I think that in reliability, the Williams car has improved a lot. Still things need to be done, though.

This season they have done a great job.
Development speed is, as good, as front runners.

FW30 will be a revolution and team is happy, with what they have got.

Williams have stopped development of their 2007 car and are focussing on next year.
Williams has the fundamental tools available Two wind tunnel, a good engine supply, and the essentials to compete but they need more financial and human resources and technical depth

I hope they manage to get back to the winners circle, but I don't believe they will. It's very difficult for an independent team to compete against Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, BMW, and others.

Williams will bounce back... I was a little upset by last season because I like Webber and to see him come so close all the time it was rather heartbreaking but they atleast have had better reliability this season and Nico has been strong, he's going to be a lifeline to Williams in the next couple years and probably the driver that will bring Williams back to the top of the sport... Well atleast I hope so I like Nico and Williams it would be nice to see them win together...

Every Team who is not fighting for the chempionship is doing the same, what WILLIAMS did.
They still have an upgrade for Japan and the bits on the car will be modified.

From where they are coming from last year - this is great year.

Technical stuff, which they got last year, are allready doing the great job, but their input was liitle, so they are working on FW30, which is sounds good.
