Chimney covers?

Post by simple » 03 Sep 2007, 01:11

I was looking through the monza test photo thread and I noticed that the cooling chimneys on LH's MP4-22 were partially taped off in this photo:

Anybody have any idea why that may be? ''hmm''

But I can't see that doing anything but impeding cooling, and I can't see any advantage that would have to the team. Unless they are trying to stress test the engine or something.

i don't think their is any obstruction for cooling in that..
somehow it can be use to direct hot exhaust air in right direction or previous Chimney was not suitable for monza's low down force rear part ''hmm''

i think they put it there cuz they want to know how it effects air direction or cooling system on the car..Monza is the lowest donwforce circuit, maybe that's the reason why they put it there...

Its testing tape ''hmm'' Its another one of them not-so-high-tech innovations for Monza :@:2 The angle from which the pic was taken is awesome.
