Silly season 2013-14
Re: Silly season 2013-14
@f1enigma: Sport Bild : Kimi has signed at Ferrari yesterday before midnight.
I think it's time to wear my Kimi-Ferrari hat again

I still think its Lotus! Why would kimi come to Ferrari again to be number 2?iceman1 wrote:But mikhailv thinks Kimi will stay at Lotusphil1993 wrote:Supposedly there is an announcement at 2pm today.
Mark Slade will move with Kimi to Ferrari. He follows him everywhere
Re: Silly season 2013-14
So that means Rob Smedley goes to Lotus, Sauber with Felipe, or back to the UK?iceman1 wrote:Mark Slade will move with Kimi to Ferrari. He follows him everywhere

I guess ALO/RAI in Ferrari is going to happen cos Dr Marko started his mind games already!
It would be great that the 2 of them could snatch the WCC from Red Bull next year!

Joe Saward says Alonso could leave to Lotus if Kimi joins Ferrari!

Re: Silly season 2013-14
That's a good article. I'm hoping that regardless of whether Alonso stays with Ferrari to demolish Raikkonen or moves to Lotus and demolishes Raikkonen in an inferior car (or not, we'll have to see how the pecking order changes with the new regulations) those few that still say Raikkonen is better than Alonso will change their minds.iceman1 wrote:Joe Saward says Alonso could leave to Lotus if Kimi joins Ferrari!

In all seriousness I really don't see Alonso settling for anything less than "number one driver" status. I would like to see a Raikkonen-Hulkenberg pairing at Ferrari, but I don't see that happening either. If Alonso does go, Ferrari will most likely keep Massa on for another year. If Lotus wind up with an Alonso-Grosjean pairing, that means in all likelihood nowhere for poor Hulkenberg to go. I hate to say it but the only way for this to work out with Ferrari and Lotus both having good driver pairings but leaving room for Hulk would be for Ferrari to drop Massa. And then I don't know where Massa would go. Sauber seemed the most realistic option but they only seem to be accepting drivers with loads and loads of backing at the moment. Sadly, I think the most realistic possibility in all of this is that Hulkenberg will have to do a Kobayashi. And I really do find it sad.
Re: Silly season 2013-14
I just don't see Ferrari changing both drivers.
Re: Silly season 2013-14
Well now Joe Saward has said it, it now definitely will not happen.iceman1 wrote:Joe Saward says Alonso could leave to Lotus if Kimi joins Ferrari!

He's the only journalist who has a worse record on predictions than Phil1993.
Re: Silly season 2013-14
Two battling drivers do not work for the championship. Red Bull proves it with their choice of driver and their behaviour over the past seasons; not their words ;)
Kimi will demand #1. He is no child, and he knows the difference between a good driver and a great driver is team support. But he might settle for #2 if the offer is appealing. Alonso hasnt won the championship, so his #1 clauses are probably expired. Maybe the difference is how far are Ferrari willing to go to keep him happy.
Hulkenberg is the other option. I think this would be the 'best' decision for the team... and a good way of going for immediate and future success.

Re: Silly season 2013-14
Every hour on the radio today I heard the 'Raikkonen set to be announced...' headline but nothing so far today. Have to wait for confirmation.
Re: Silly season 2013-14
Massa just announced on Twitter he won't be driving for Ferrari in 2014.
Re: Silly season 2013-14
Seriously that's the best decision for him. I hope he gets a competitive car next year to show his true potential.donald29 wrote:Massa just announced on Twitter he won't be driving for Ferrari in 2014.
Well, he needs to find a seat first
Re: Silly season 2013-14
I do feel sad for Felipe. I really do. I supported him in 2008 and 2009. The accident deffeinitely hurt him. I still proudly have Felipe's F248 and F2007 and F2008 in metallic red on my mantle piece with Kimi's F2007 and F2008 both metallic cherry.
Its funny, because when you think of it Massa was one point away from making lewis hamilton nothing but a multiple race winner and not a champion.
