Nope. Honda are mclaren exclusive for a single year I think. The proverbial shite has hit the fan though for Sauber

They did sound pretty downbeat when the announcement was made... but wow it's spiraled bad

They still have abit of mexican sponsorship but alas its too little. I believe Marrussia and Sauber are THE worst off

Marussia tried to join with Caterham last year so maybe they'll look for an alliance with Sauber instead to try and save both of them.

Wont work. Sauber have just over £90million in debt, Marussia dont have anything of value to sauber personel, drivers or technology wise. It would be like Ferrari collaborating 2013 williams. Just no sense in it.

Caterham/Marussia made sense as they were pretty close and of similar budget. Marussia would make Saubers situation worse in reality!

I hope they can sort things out. I really missed Sauber after BMW took over, and I'll miss them again if they're not on the grid next year!

When BMW took over it was BMW-Sauber. It was the same team with better talent and budget. Arguably, Mario Thiessen achieved more for Sauber in 4 years than Sauber himself did in 20.

Tho it is a bit unfair to compare BMW's effort with Peter Saubers. Simply because BMW pumped way more Millions into the Team then Sauber could ever do as a Private team Owner without the Support of an manufactour. And, measured by how much Money BMW burned up while they where with Sauber, i highly doubt they achived more. They had 1 Victory. Just one. And that one was a present from Hamilton who took himself out of the Race along with Kimi . And when they realised their Car war c**p in 2009, they dropped Sauber like a bad habbit and left F1. So, i wouldnt say Sauber achived more with BMW in those 4 years. In Fact, BMW's runaway was the reason for Saubers bad condition in 2013.

Not really unfair. They sold to bmw to stay alive. 4 year plan failed and they left. They still had less budget than ferrari/renau/toyota/honda/mclaren.

1 win more than sauber and many podiums. They survived through the sale which crippled Williams

According to the Italian Omnicorse, Sauber has been bought by the Russian SMP Bank for 135 million euros. And the new team principal will be the son of Jean Todt...
While Sauber has made an official statement about a partnership with three Russian enterprises: Investment Corporation International Fund, State Fund of Development of Northwest Russian Federation, International Institute of Aviation Technologies.
Also, as part of the agreement Sergei Sirotkin joins the development program of Sauber.

I wonder if we will see an all-Russian team with Sirotkin and Petrov for next year when Sochi debuts...

Only 17 (18 at the start of next season). His results aren't too shabby, especially for someone so young, but ready for an F1 drive...?

True, but he'd won the British F3 championship and races in FR3.5. Plus it wasn't until 2011 that he really began to impress, after 2011.

My worry Sirotkin is they'd put him in F1 too early and it would damage his career. If I were managing his career I'd want him in the feeder series for another season or two, but then I'm not a multi-millionaire wanting a Russian F1 driver in time for the Russian Grand Prix!

I'd be a bit worried about Lotus throwing tonnes of cash at Kimi to keep him at the team at the expense of spending money on developing the car. Good to hear that Sauber have found funding and should be alright for at least the short term.

Everyone said exactly the same thing about Kimi Raikkonen. He was older, sure, but even less experienced as he'd only raced for a season in the Formula Renault 2.0. Of course no one knew that Kimi would turn out how he did, so how can we be sure Sirotkin won't do something similar? He's already shown considerable talent in the lower formula for quickly adapting to more powerful cars in short amounts of time.
