Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
That wouldn't suprise me if that is the case. That may be a term that Seb used to negotiate his extended contract with Red Bull.
Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
Could you provide sources for that, instead of throwing rumors which people love to bait.icemaid wrote:Latest rumour, Vettel has veto Kimi joining RedBull.
The one line "I don't know how realistic that is." that media outlets and detractors are twisting at will won't cut it.
Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
RBR seems happy with Vergne's results in Monaco and Canada. We'll see if he can continue his performance. Interesting, everyone was saying it's between 2 drivers, now it's between 3.
But I don't get it, why would Red Bull sign Kimi, if they can get a younger and cheaper driver who can help them in the WCC?
I'm pretty sure if Webber wants to stay, they'll extend his contract for 2014.

Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
It was reported that last season Horner asked Vettel about Hamilton as a team-mate and Vettel said he wouldn't mind, but Horner decided against it. Don't know if that was correct, but would I tend to believe you're right that Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel wouldn't want each other moving into their team.mikhailv wrote:No surprise. As naff as it is for us spectators, why would any of the above want a driver equal or better than themself? It defeats the point of being number 1 in the team and getting your own way.
Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
its silly from their perspectives. Senna and Prost lasted 2 seasons and they hated each other.donald29 wrote:It was reported that last season Horner asked Vettel about Hamilton as a team-mate and Vettel said he wouldn't mind, but Horner decided against it. Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
(As I biased Australian F1 fan) I don't really like the discussion about Webber leaving Red Bull as if it's a lock, it is however really fun to make predictions and is a probability rather than a maybe... however I worry when it's hitting the cover of a lot of F1 mags at the moment. As said biased Australian I'd really like to see Ricciardo go to RBR, and I really don't think Kimi is a good fit with the team so I think the more likely candidates are Di Resta or JEV.
Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
So Webber left the team. AUTOSPORT thinks Kimi is a strong candidate to replace him.

Big news. Now crash Vettel out every race
But seriously, great loss for the sport. Such a character he is. Unlucky in 2010 he could've got a championship.
I'll remember him for:
1. His antics with his team
2. His takeoff on the Valencia runway.
3. "Multi-21 Seb"
4. Putting one on his old mate in Eau Rouge
5. Dat Silverstone podium jump.
But most of all, for his upfront honesty whenever he says anything.

Ill miss mark. I think he was robbed in 2010, purposely sacrificed in Abu Dhabi for Vettel. I think he lost his desire at Red Bull after 2010.
Ill follow his progress in LMP1 though.

Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
Yeah, one season too many of bulls** team politics. Not sure I'll follow him too closely beyond F1 though, so let's hope Ricciardo gets a chance to wave the flag for us Aussiesmikhailv wrote:Ill miss mark. I'm only just hopping onto the Le Mans bandwagon. With Mark there next year it'll be an added incentive to stay up for the big race.

Re: Raikkonen to Red Bull in 2014?
Mark's one of my favorite drivers, so yeah, I'm sad to see him leaving F1. However, I know that Red Bull haven't exactly treated him very nicely from 2010 onwards, so it's likely for the best for him. Plus, he gets to go back to Le Mans, where he made his début on the international motor racing stage, so it's full-circle for him now.
Thanks, Mark; your Aussie grit and brutal honesty have earned you a place of high regard in my personal rankings of all-time F1 drivers.

This is great!
Everybody is afraid of having Kimi as a team mate!

@EliGP: Raikkonen on his links with Red Bull: "I was drinking Red Bull when I was in Ferrari." So now you know.
