Stefano Domenicali says that if Felipe continues his current form then he'll be staying at the team in 2014.

Shoot me. What on earth is this guy talking about? If Felipe had been a better teammate, Alonso could have been world champion last year!

His current form = 3 crashes in 2 weekends and we still have the race today.

I say bring in Rosberg. He's finally shown what he's worth. The Brazilian's stay is long overdue now...

Felipe's form was fine from Monaco onwards last year (bar Germany).

Ferrari kept faith for all that time, so why sack him now?

I still believe only yesterday was Felipe's fault.

But i think he helped Alonso last year,He took a 5 place grid penalty in Austen to put Alonso on the clean side of the track, and he was much faster in Korea when Ferrari asked him to give the place to Alonso,so i think it's unfair to blame him for what happened last year. He has always been the team player.
A craven can be as brave as any man, when there is nothing to fear. And we all do our duty, when there is no cost to it. How easy it seems then, to walk the path of honor.

If if if... If he'd had more races like he did at the end of the year he could have taken points off Alonso and made life harder for him!

On other 2014 rumours, these Maldonado to Lotus ones. Just what the. Hope there's nothing in it. Would be so sad to see a team that's been as successful as Lotus recently having to take on Maldonado. $$$

Although, we could have him and Grosjean in the same team.

Maldanado to lotus? Could be interesting.

I would put Bianchi in the Ferrari next year. Ferrari need to think of the future. Alonso has what, 3 years left? Why not get their highly rated academy driver to learn from one of the best drivers in the 2000's? He could learn so much from Fernando, he couldn't do much worse than Felipe, and he is young, has hunger, needs to develop. Who knows, if and when Vettel comes to Ferrari Bianchi will be an established driver who has learned from the best.

Formula 1 has finally seen sense and adopted a MotoGP idea:

There will be four 2 day in-season tests in 2014, after certain European races. Two will be Spain and Britain. 8 of 11 teams agreed, so it will happen.

Seeing as there's 2 other venues to be decided, it'll be two from Germany, Belgium and Italy.

Finally, some intellect within the paddock. I bet caterham/marussia objected to tests due to budget. Williams 3rd?

Not sure. If anything it's good for them because they can charge $$$ for a seat.

Sky was with Graham Lowdon all weekend and if I remember right in one of the practice sessions, he said that doing a 1000km test this year would be bad for them as it costs money. So if doing a 1000km test this year is bad news, I cant imagine how bad 2 day tests would be for them =/

They don't have to take part in them. They can charge a lot anyway.

Tests will be on Tues/Weds after the race, so long as they aren't the first of a back-to-back weekend.

I kind of hope Caterham/marussia do merge. If it keeps both teams alive, the joint knowledge could be brilliant and double the budget. but on the flipside, many jobs gone and power struggles.....

Why don't you like Maldonado? He's a good driver, bad drivers don't win races in the type of car he won in.

That was an excellent drive by him (in a car that on the day was fast), but from 2011 to now how many good races can you say he's had? He's crashed and been involved in way too many incidents to justify a move to a better team. He is fast, but nowhere near being a complete driver and certainly has not been consistent enough to be worthy of a Lotus drive.

People seem to be under the impression he had a good 2012 because of that one race. He didn't, he failed to score in the subsequent 8 or 9 races. It was crash after crash after crash, both with other drivers and with the barriers. In the end he lost more points for Williams than he gained from that win.
