Mercedes has yet to confirm Paddy Lowe but it's an almost certainty.

Paddy lowe is like the Montoya to America story. 'He's injured' aaah, gardening leave while he is removed from the team because he is taking an opportunity elsewhere.

James Allison was at Ferrari from 2000-04, then joined Renault for 2005-06. That's 7 championships in a row. I wonder if anyone else has been at teams and won 7 consecutive championships!

Some say that he is joining Kimi at RBR. I dont really see what RBR would get from Kimi to be honest.

And Mclaren also having correlation issues; apparently F1 engineers have a very hard time simulating that suspension.......

A driver which isn't adaptable, requires a specific set-up with a narrow operating window, leading a team who has elected to use a suspension inwhich requires twice the amount of time to make changes too, has a much narrower set-up window and now having trouble simulating the suspension. Only took Ferrari 4 races to fix. Guess Mclaren are missing an Alonso or Hamilton; Adaptable driver who will drive around problems. Oh wait, maybe Bahrain was the awakening of Perez?

Hehhe well, Alonso was keeping his car ahead basically without a rear wing in Bahrain; them climbed to a decent pt haul without DRS... i would say that race more or less summarizes why he got good results last yr.

so yea, Mclaren probably need someone to wrestle the car into at least decent results until they get their problems solved.

That was my reasoning pre-season. McLaren don't now have a driver that will get everything out of the car. The others from the top four do.

Exactly. They've committed suicide basically. They shouldn't go for something which is renouned to require time and precision with at least one driver who's operating window is so narrow that its either Balance, Oversteer or Understeer in every race. He has never been able to say 'ok car, your not as good as you should be. Im going to MAKE you as good as you should be' and proceed to drive the wheels off it all race, lap after lap.

I can only see Alonso and Lewis doing that consistently. Both ofwhich Mclaren have lost in 5 years.

Joe Saward is pretty sure that Allison is going to Mercedes. They don't want to announce that now, because the current team of engineers will get upset and maybe will decide to leave.

I don't see a serious man behind this photo :p

Yeah, made even worse because the car had much more troubles than initially thought. Pre-season they didn't look that bad, i think it was at the last pre-season test when they got hit in the face.....

And Button gets €16m which is too much. He should get €10m max.

A fraction of Mclaren's budget - four times as many points
