3.5 secs between 2nd slowest car on the grid (the slowest now seems caterham) is quite a quick lap, I guess it will be very close performance with RB... Mercedes surely show great and strong car in this test... Hope they still able to develop it just as crazy as... hmmm let's be realistic, probably Lotus.. Not RB, Mclaren, or Ferrari.

It's still early days, but that time is quite quick I must say. It's faster than last year's pole by 2 tenths, and we're still in preseason development.

CMIIW, it's not 2 tenths, but 1.2secs faster than his own pole last year (last year was 1.21.707), which He had to stop because of out of fuel... It's a very very good lap indeed.

Probably because of track temperature, but as far as I know, the hotter the track, the faster the time. I never thought of the contrary... But yes, we still not know about long run pace concerning with tyre degradation. But in long run pace, Mercedes seems as fast as Ferrari and RB. I don't know but I see good car for Mercedes in this early stage of 2013 season.

It was really professional of Grosjean to come back in such a short period, but boy, are they unlucky in these tests. :( So many issues with that car.
Btw, Vettel, Alonso, Raikkonen today! :D

1.23.1 for Pic. That's not bad, but it suggests all the teams doing 1.21s have acres of improvement...

I know we can't be sure of fuel loads, but Alonso and Rosberg have both done runs on the soft tyres at a similar time.

Alonso did 3 runs (different sets of tyres) and did 1.20.6, 1.20.4 and 1.20.5
Rosberg did 2 runs (different sets of tyres) and did 1.20.1, 1.20.1
