2013 Car Launches
Re: 2013 Car Launches
Looks like a repainted RB.
At least redbull have played it smart having two teams; design philosophy is the same now so they can develop parts for the RB car on the STR too.

Well they have gone with different approaches concerning the nose, could be experimentation going on...

Re: 2013 Car Launches
I realised that when I saw a comparison pic including the MP4-28/27/26, this years car looks more similar to the 2011 challenger than to last years car. Can't find the pic though.phil1993 wrote:I swear a lot of the 2013 cars look like 2011 cars.
Edit: Got one.
Re: 2013 Car Launches
Green livery with black wheels look great, shame about the stepped nose.
Marussia looks really nice.
Re: 2013 Car Launches
Thanks for the pics guys. I personally don't like the look of the Caterham and the stepped nose does only add to that impression.
Re: 2013 Car Launches
Caterham look like they haven't done much at all. I would think they've put all of their championship bonus money in to next year and they'll hope they can keep the small updates coming to hold off Marussia.
Marussia look like they've bought a GP2 car! Vanity plate and a pointy noise and not a lot else really.

Re: 2013 Car Launches
these teams dont even need to bother with this year though Kev and Ibesevic. I dare say, Caterham had a good half a second over Marussia last year, and Marussia wont find that. Its attrition will again will determine 10th, rightfully its been Caterham for the past 10 years.
Watching the skyf1 programme on testing. Not sure if Di Resta is happy, unhappy or normal. Nico looks like he has a smile painted on his face, trying not to look annoyed/miserable. best thing is he says the car is a massive improvement to which kravitz said 'you know that from 14 laps?' 'Yes. It depends how much better everyone else has improved too' . Oh dear :P. Massa's body language is of 'its not the F2012 this time last year, which means its positive'.
Jerez is a pointless track really. Tracks too abrasive, tyre wear is at its max, temeperatures are too cold. Why not just do all 3 tests at Barcelona? That way, your already at the track, keep most of the stuff at Barcelona and just ship in the new parts and youve got a much better track for aero testing and straightline along with set ups and cornering.

Re: 2013 Car Launches
Marussia already have half a second in their pocket because of KERS. The car is clearly an improvement. The McLaren-style exhaust, the new floor and new sidepods are pretty easy to see and are looking decent. Pat Symonds is long enough in the business to know how to build a good car.
