To Infiniti and beyond for Red Bull

It was mentioned before at the start of the season, but Red Bull have become the closest thing to a Renault works team. Really, they're the main Renault team and this title sponsorship of Infiniti is just another factor in that.
Re: 2013 Formula One Discussion
That last line . Sounds better than red bull racing, at least there's an automobile brand behind it...

Good for Senna he has not stupid managers as some had year ago:

And before anyone starts to ponder between pay and non-pay drivers, Valtteri has three sponsors and two of them are big enough to bring nice bag full of money to Williams along with Bottas. Maybe not as big bag as Senna has but maybe Valtteri's speed (and maybe Toto) compensates something.Senna ‘in race with Bottas’ for Williams seat
By Editor on Wednesday, November 28, 2012
Bruno Senna has admitted he has a “plan B” in the event Williams decides to replace him for 2013 with Finnish rookie Valtteri Bottas.
Agencia Estado quotes the Brazilian as admitting he and Bottas, the team’s Toto Wolff-linked 2012 reserve driver, “are in the same battle” for a single race seat for next season.
“As soon as we saw that the battle was strong, we saw that we needed a plan B, because you can’t wait until the end (of the year) to see whether or not you are somewhere,” said Senna.

Quite sad news really, but not at all a big surprise, since we all knew that they had financial issues. Still sad news, but I'm not gonna miss them.phil1993 wrote:No big surprise - no HRT

In the end they never gave anything for Formula 1, since they were nearly allways the last 2 cars on the grid. At the good day they could challenge Marussia, but still it didn't help at all.

Maybe q1 will be slightly more interesting now.[FIN]SpeedFreak wrote:Quite sad news really, but not at all a big surprise, since we all knew that they had financial issues. Still sad news, but I'm not gonna miss them.phil1993 wrote:No big surprise - no HRT

Finally Rosberg gets to be the first driver in Mercedes.
So what does this do to qualifying? Do the bottom 6 get knocked out after Q1, then Q2 now?

It would be 22-16, 15-10, then top 10.
In 2006 it was 22-17, 16-10, then top 10. That was the first time we had the qualifying format changed.

Silly season is agonizing, hopes up for Senna, Kovalainen and Kobayashi, I think Senna has another year but Kovie and Koby are on the edge... Grosjean too but I think he's got another year at Lotus locked up, if not he'll land somewhere else and impress.
