Vettel v Bourdais

Post by iceman1 » 14 Aug 2007, 10:31

Bourdais has finally been confirmed for STR next year

bourdais comes from CCWS with a reputation as a dominate driver from his three (possibly four) consecutive titles and Vettel has driven many miles in a good F1 car, and will of also had a handful of races under his belt before the start of the new season. He's still very youn

It's also interesting to think about which of the drivers will have the edge.

bourdais vs vettel is going to be one of the best battle of 2008 , Who do you think will have the edge in 2008?

between those two? definatly bourdais ^cool^

there's no substitute for experience and so far he has more kms on the STR car then Vettel, also he has won 3 champ car titles n finished 2nd on the 24h Le Mans this year. So im guessing he is a very very good driver, im looking forward to see what he will achieve. ^cool^

I'm betting on Bourdais too. It's a shame that such a talented driver has no other choice than Toro Rosso though.

It doesn't matter, unless Torro Rosso improves both of their careers will hang in the balance of whether the team bosses like them or not... Speed and Liuzzi weren't bad drivers and a lot of the time their bad luck was down to the car, but it always gets blamed on them, if the same happens with Vettel and Bourdais then they'll be in the same position as Liuzzi and Speed... Though I think between the two of them Bourdais will just have it...

both are called sebastien.

I have seen Vettel drive, but still have to see Bourdais.

I just hope their car is more reliable as the present one.

My predictions:

1.Bourdais will be the quickest at STR.
2.STR will still suck.

Probably around equal but I am not exactly a fan of Bourdais.

Even though he has won his millions of Champ Car Titles he hasn't had exactly much competition as of late. This year he is being troubled by Robert Doornbos and Team Minardi USA. Amercian Open Wheel Racing is not what it used to be unfortunately.

I don't really like him because he complains quite a bit and after Mont Tremblant he complained about Doornbos blocking him. You could hear the fans disgust in the stands when it was called over the announce system. The Mont Tremblant podium was very funny though. :@:2

Vettel is already driving in that team so for him will be easier in next year. Bourdais need a time to acclimatise. My predictions are that 1st half of the season for him second for Bourdais (he knows how to win). I hope Bourdais will show his talent.

It's true, it's no more than a feeder for F1. Probably even below GP2. But Doornbos isn't a bad driver. He just didn't have the opportunity to drive for a real team (and even Alonso didn't look good at Minardi).

Yes, that was quite amusing. Still his record (26 wins in 66 races) is impressive, especially taking into account that all teams use roughly the same cars and that the Champ Car races are therefore filled with randomness.

I think Bourdais is a very good driver and Vettel didn't cause me any impression yet. So, I guess the french will be faster and more reliable.

I will say Vettel. He has more experience in F1. F1 is one hell of a lady to tame. I hope they both do good though. I would like to see Toro Rosso make some strides in their car.

Bourdais has been great in champcar but he is with one of the dominant teams. Toro Rosso with Tonio and Speed have been at the back of the field the whole season!
