Take a bow Byron Young.

His best moment of 2012 was Button overtaking Hamilton in Australia

Someone should create a Byron Young fail blog.

It frustrates me when someone like that gets to travel the world following F1 and is so utterly hopeless at reporting, and he only has to write for the Mirror.

Best pitstop of the season, 5 wheels changed. :p Apparently it's something they've practised before.

Congrats to Vettel!

Well done to Alonso for making the WDC race still interesting.

Fantastic pitstop by Macca crew for changing 5 wheels!

Its quite difficult given Alonso's been doing an amazing job, all in vain because his car isn't as good as the RB. Plus two drivers in the car locking out the front row does not help your case at all, it actually means it's more down to the car than the driver.

There's a typo in the story on the front page.
It says Webber had an earlier FIGHT. I think it's missing an L :)

Thank you!

I would give Alonso a 10/10 though because he beat one of the faster Red Bulls. There's nothing more he could've done.

It's not just Red Bull; the first 3 rows in India's grid were nicely arranged by teams, so that's where the complains became kinda obvious. I guess we were spoiled by the start of the season hehe

I admit that a RB lockout makes me bitter though ;)

He "beat" Webber because the car had a mechanical failure. Not much of a "beat", and Hamilton STILL couldn't pass Webber. I am getting tired of all the Alonso fanboys not manning up and saying Vettel/Red Bull are better and should win the WDC. As the season comes to a close Reb Bull are still improving and the rest have given up and will wait for the FIA to rig the rules against Red Bull again.

I agree with mileso...
The other thing that gets to me - even though it might just be me - is the fact that every Ferrari/Alonso fan seems to believe that F2012 is a piece of c**p. If the F2012 is really THAT bad, how come Alonso had basically no problem passing the two McLarens, which are supposed to be faster, even according to Alonso himself? I get that he used DRS, KERS and Hamilton and Button were fighting each other, but still...
I swear sometimes I feel like that Alonso (and his fans) thinks that he is driving a HRT, and the only reason he's still fighting for the WDC is his superb driving skill. (I'm not saying his not good, don't get me wrong, but I think he overexaggerates.)

The Ferrari was c**p in the first four races, but it has very good traction which means that in the wet it's the best car - and that really helped Alonso in Malaysia!

Since Monaco, the car has been a contender; not the best but definitely not the horror it was at the start of the year. It's because they went radical with the design of the F2012 so took time to understand it. Red Bull's RB8 and McLaren's MP4-27 was an evolution of 2011 cars (although the RB8 did have some issues at the start of the year), so they had some head start.

Ferrari's issue now is that their wind tunnel isn't working properly, so that will surely hurt their 2013 car; they can't get in the Toyota facility enough.
