'The Real Cost of F1' in the March issue of F1 Racing, the magazine listed estimated annual salaries of the 10 highest-paid drivers this season.

1: Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari, US$51 million
2: Ralf Schumacher, Toyota, US$25 million.
3: Fernando Alonso, McLaren, US$22 million.
4: Jenson Button, Honda, US$18 million.
5: Rubens Barrichello, Honda, US$12 million.
6: Jarno Trulli, Toyota, US$10 million.
7: Felipe Massa, Ferrari, US$8 million.
8: Giancarlo Fisichella, Renault, US$7 million.
9: Mark Webber, Red Bull, US$5 million.
10. Takuma Sato, Super Aguri, US$4.5 million.

The list reflects significant raises for a number of drivers, including Alonso, who made $7.2 million last season, Button, $7.2 million, and Ralf Schumacher, $20.4 million.

Michael Schumacher ended his career at the end of last season as the highest-paid F1 driver ever at US$62.4 million, with at least another US$17 million from personal endorsements and merchandising. That left him second to golfer Tiger Woods (US$100 million) as the top earner in professional sport.

-Drivers managers take between 25 and 40% of their drivers fees.
-Christijan Abers has payed about 12 million € to race at Spyker this season.

I'm amazed that Ralf Schumacher makes so much... I guess blood is thicker than water.. He ain't no Michael Schumacher..
Alonso should be making Kimi money.. However, I think Kimi is over-paid!

Lewis Hamilton is earning roughly $500,000 U.S.
from Mclaren.

I'd like to know what Scott Speed's salary was.

that was the reason why Ralf went to Toyota. They had money to waste.

Ralf made an error when he said he was 3rd best driver. Surely his salary suggests he is the second best driver #Fear

I think I heard somewhere that Ralf has accepted a *huge* cut of his salary. And I mean huge - IIRC he will earn 4 or 5 times less than what he was supposed to earn. I'll try to find a link for this.

EDIT: OK - I wasn't really accurate. The salary cut will be for 2008, and he will be earning $5M instead of $22M:

What I'd do to be the agent of one of the drivers! 25%-40% of Kimi's wage just for me!

Ferrari has just screwed McLaren, publicly stating that they wanted to pay 17 million pounds for Hamilton. This was more an effort to make McLaren pay more for him then to actually hire him. The more money they pay for Hamilton the less Mclaren can spend on their car, not that it matters much as it seems they also have Ferrari's engineers working on their car such is the 780 page document advantage.
