I know that I'm watching F1 races since 1988, but I don't remember. The first one that I really remember was GP Canada 1990, when Berger had a jump start and Senna and Piquet made 1-2.

Man, you guys are all a bunch of newbies. I first watched F1 on Wide World of Sports in the Sixties. Jackie Stewart was my hero. For many years you could only get race reviews in Competition Press which is now Autoweek here in the States. We didn't get very good coverage until the mid eighties when ESPN picked up the contract. In those days Varsha and Hobbs broadcasted from the race track instead of the studio like on Speed now. Still my favorite era of F1. Senna , Mansell, Piquet, Prost, Berger, Rosberg, Patrese, De Crasherist. Those were the days.

Don't be a fool...never wish you were older. LOL! I wish we had better coverage back in the sixties and seventies. Usually just highlights of Monaco weeks after the race and later coverage of Detroit or Long Beach, with Jim McKay trying his best, but having no clue what Formula 1 was about. Being a go-kart racer at the time, it was the only type of racing that appealed to me. I could never understand the appeal of ovals or drag racing. In a way I feel lucky to have grown up in the sixties...it was quite a time in our history and being a guitar player I would say produced the best music since Beethoven.

The first Grand Prix I ever really saw was '75 at Watkins Glen live. Of course in those days the Grand Prix there was more of a big party or like a motorsport Woodstock. Great fun but the race was kind of secondary. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the infamous Bog?

First one I remember watching was the 1996 French GP. Michael Schumacher retired on the parade lap before the race had even started.
