Predict the final Top Ten

Post by phil1993 » 31 Jul 2012, 16:50

Current standings

01 Fernando Alonso 164
02 Mark Webber 124
03 Sebastian Vettel 122
04 Lewis Hamilton 117
05 Kimi Räikkönen 116
06 Nico Rosberg 77
07 Jenson Button 76
08 Romain Grosjean 76
09 Sergio Perez 47
10 Kamui Kobayashi 33

So what will the top 10 look like at the end of 20 races? To make it doubly fun, what will the title winning points margin be?

I don't think that anyone can stop Alonso this year. I predict Vettel to get 2nd place because he is usually very good in the 2nd half of the year. Hamilton will also win a few races because the car got stronger in the last 2 races. The margin between first and second will be about 20 - 30 points.

01 Fernando Alonso
02 Sebastian Vettel
03 Lewis Hamilton
04 Kimi Räikkönen
05 Mark Webber
06 Romain Grosjean
07 Jenson Button
08 Nico Rosberg
09 Sergio Perez
10 Pastor Maldonado
FC BAYERN 7 - BARCELONA 0

I am watching the F1 Show now. Jonathan Noble thinks Raikkonen can win the title (he said he thought Alonso is gonna win it, but things have changed after Hungary). While both Kevin Eason (The Times) and Byron Young (The mirror) think Hamilton will win it.

If the F2012 doesn't improve by Monza, the title is either Kimi's or Lewis'

Hmmm the British press. :p One of Byron Young's best moment of the season was Button winning in Australia!

Eason and Noble were good, Young had a couple of stupid moments.

I agree with Noble on Raikkonen / Alonso. Changed my mind after Hungary, but not just based on Hungary.

That's the difference having to write for the public in a British newspaper and a specialised magazine

You should watch it Phil. Watch Young complain about tyres being referred to as Prime and Option being complicated and boring and suggesting there was an order from Ferrari to Sauber in Malaysia!

Noble was the most balanced I thought, although Eason's input was also good.

What is prime and option?

Noble shut him up. He said if Sauber asked Perez to push and he did a mistake, people will say why they didn't tell him to keep his position.

I thought it was the start of the race where Button jumped Hamilton :p
