Lotus confirms chief exec Dany Bahar suspended.

"As a result of a number of media inquiries, Group Lotus plc (“Lotus”) can today confirm that, following an operational review, chief executive Dany Bahar has been temporarily suspended from his role to facilitate an investigation into a complaint about his conduct made by Lotus’ penultimate parent company, DRB-HICOM Berhad."

Isn't going too well for Lotus in Indy 500 either. Maybe Bahar will be history.

Indy 500: Lotus Drivers Will Not Get Engine Power Boost
May 22 8:19p by Nick Fasulo

Despite safety concerns and slower post times, IndyCar officials announced that drivers using Lotus engines will not get an extra power boost for Sunday's Indianapolis 500, according to the Associated Press.

The decision affects only two drivers in the field: Switzerland's Simona de Silvestro and France's Jean Alesi, who will start the race in 32nd and 33rd, respectively.

The decision temporarily puts to rest a growing story line of whether drivers using Lotus engines should be given a handicap of sorts when pitted against better-performing Chevrolet and Honda engines.

Instead of the power boost, race officials will monitor race-day speeds to ensure that all drivers are moving within the 105 percent of the pace of the current leaders.

While the varying performance levels of engines among Indy 500 participants may initially seem to be an issue of competition, it actually is more about safety, as Alesi has told the media he believes he could serve as an impediment for other drivers, and felt "unsafe" consistently driving at slower speeds.

De Silvestro has already gone on record saying she will look to stay out of the driving lanes of the favorites and not look to cause problems.

Final qualifying times showed a 16 MPH disparity between Alesi (210 MPH) and pole sitter Ryan Briscoe (226 MPH).

Any car that does not maintain the 105 percent pace during the race will be forced off the track.

So, what does Bernie now want. Looks like his divide and rule tactics. Is it because of FIA wanting more money or what?

Its a bit strange no one's mentioned Button. He's being demolished by Lewis last race and today in qualy as well. Part of me tells me his performance last year was a fluke, down more to Lewis's personal issues than his own skill...

It amazes me how Boullier have started dreaming for championships now. Before the season it was to get in P5, but now only the sky is the limit. Sure the championships are open but it is long way to go for Lotus.
In the end, the two points we’ve scored today are disappointing but because the field is so tight we have not lost too much ground on our opponents. We have the same number of points as Ferrari in the constructors’ championship, while Kimi is 25 points away from Fernando Alonso who’s leading the drivers’ classification. Anything can still happen and the championship is wide open.

Maybe he didn't beleive in the potential of the cars and Kimi like Gerard Lopez did. :)

It's more like nobody has doubted that the car and Kimi has potential but the team has yet to show it :<>:
