What browser are you using?

Post by reppo » 18 Apr 2012, 17:04

I'm finally getting tired of Firefox (ver. 11). It has today crashed twice. Yesterday it refused to show Silverlight videos at all. What a bummer :<>:

I used Firefox for ages and, although I was extremely happy with it, sometimes it was a bit too slow.
From a few months I've switched to Chrome, and it's just mighty fast!

The fact that it didn't show Silverlight videos is probably solely down to codecs and plugins.

Used to use Internet Explorer

Chrome looks nice. Firefox feels now sluggish and slow. Chrome even imported all bookmarks and everything without a glitch. Don't know what is wrong with Firefox but it looks if it is vulnerable when playing Silverlight video, even with up to date plugins. I was doing a transcript of a MTV3 video interview and pausing and replaying same part of the video again few times crashed plugin container and Firefox too. So far if a plugin crashes in Chrome it does not crash Chrome itself and reloading the page solves the problem. Though it happened only once. After using Firefox for years, Chrome doesn't look too different and it is fast.

Ha. No good without something bad. Suddenly flash videos crashed in Chrome, and also in Firefox. Nothing helped until I found that disabling hardware acceleration by right clicking the video and unchecking it in settings fixed the problem. Wonder how that got checked. Who designs these gadgets ''hmm''

Switched to Chrome this morning- Firefox has proven to be extremely buggy lately.

Is Chrome really that good? Our IT bod at work swears by it, but I'm a creature of habit and am still using IE. is it really that much better?

I use Chrome and I like it more than IE which I still have but Chrome is faster and just looks cool.

[Firefox] and [Aurora] are my primary web browser's because there is a lot of addon's for "privacy and security", e-mail checkers and web development tools. I dont go on the web without this list:
:)

Google Chrome breaks the rules of privacy so i dont like that...

Yes... i know that there is not any commercial pop-up windows on F1Zone, but other sites has a lot... so i use Adblock for them... :O

Speed is not an issue for me comparing with Chrome... 3 or 4 seconds more it's not a big waiting, but privacy and security is much more important than the speed.:
