Funny. Now that Nico won, MTV3 remembered that he is half Finn and fifth Finnish national who has won F1 GP. There has been quite a lot Nico news in Finnish media now. Though cruel Finnish motorsport fans do not think he is so Finn because he doesn't speak Finnish at all (Keke newer bothered to talk him Finnish when he was young; waste of time according Keke). Actually Vettel speaks more Finnish than Nico. On last Saturday he went to MTV3's staff to say a comment: "I'm so tough bloke that I eat iron and s*** chains", he said in perfect Finnish without any accent. :lol: Well, he didn't have anything else to say at that time. Seb has spent too much time with Finns :zz: Cruel Finnish motorsport "fans" has bashed Kimi's driving :( According them - not all and not by me but some - you are as good as your last race, and if you won then why didn't you won from pole and made the fastest lap and be fastest in every practice and by the way why not do it in every race. Well, they are idiots who looses their interest if a Finn is not winning.

Anyway Chinese GP was great - regardless of Kimi's bad strategy, and I voted it to get 9. And I will vote Kimi to win in Bahrain if the race is not canceled. Nico should also do well and both of McLarens. Wonder is Schumacher will now be successful. This season has a possibility to be one of the best ever :)

If I remember right in 2009 Nico said, that he isn't Finnish that he is German. Last year when there was only 100 % Finn Heikki in his crappy team, Nico said:"You know that I'm, half Finnish." To me he is more German than Finnish... :O

Nico has lived all of his life in Germany. So it is quite obvious he is more German that Finn. In lower formula series he did drive with Finnish racing license but then he switched to German. It was his dad's idea to be able to get sponsors more easily. Keke already knew how hard it is to a Finnish driver to get a seat in F1 and he thought it would be easier for a German. He might be right. Finn or German - who cares, he finally won a GP and he and his dad are third father-son family who has won a GP. Now it should be easier for Nico to win more :)

Bernie's latest idea. F1 Grand Slam races!

There's an idea that some races could become like tennis grand slams and be worth more points than the others. Presumably the most historic or the ones Bernie wants more money from. Monaco, Silverstone, Monza and Japan would make a good set.

That's not a bad idea, maybe extra prize money rather than points.

But with Bernie, you know it'll end up being Abu Dhabi and other circuits like that...

From a Jenson Button interview
"If I had my way, I'd make sure that after a race we could celebrate a victory better than we do now. The way it is with having to look after the engine because it's got to do a certain number of races, and the gearbox, you can't go and do doughnuts for the crowd. You can't pick up a national flag. You can't have the moments that Nigel Mansell had at Silverstone. And in your very moment of euphoria you are dragged away from the team, your family and friends."

Bernie have strange ideas. Maybe he is motivated by money. Like how he counts what Mercedes has won in F1 - only one GP. Not to say that Mercedes has a great F1 history, but Bernie says the team was originally Tyrrel and then raced on few other names before Mercedes bought the team. 1954-55 doesn't count at all. The disagreement is about money of course, Mercedes wants more and Bernie doesn't want to pay.

Of course it would cost more for organizers to have a Grand Slam GP, which would mean that only rich organizers can afford it. Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, China... who else?

I think its a pointless idea. Choosing which track is a grand slam and which is not, based on heritage etc is totally subjective to opinion, and may lead to arguments such as 'this is unfair, most grand slams don't suit our car' and so on. I don't see why it would cost the organizers more though, its just extra points for a specific race.

Then maybe just pull them out of a hat each season.

@Kevin Clark

Got a whole new meaning since Malaysia, didn't it?

Guys, is there any information as to why Jenson and Lewis will not participate in the Mugello test?
