Virgin Media announcement on Sky Sports F1

For all UK viewers with Virgin Media- Sky Sports F1 will be shown on Virgin as part of the Sky Sports package

This suggests to me that the live BBC commentary on their non-live races will be offered to international broadcasters, like One HD in Australia.

La Sexta, the channel which broadcasts F1 in Spain, have relinquished the rights to show F1.

TVE unlikely to pick them up, hope lies with Antena 3

That was to be expected. When Mediapro made their bid to get the rights, they offered an absurd amount of money to be sure they could get the rights away from Telecinco and no broadcaster can really pay for those rights without going broke.

Don't worry, in case nobody else picks up the rights, if you are by any chance in Catalonia, it should not be a problem. TV3 has the rights there and, as far as I know, they will keep on broadcasting.
If you are somewhere else, just found a hotel or someone with a satellite pointing to Astra: RTL broadcasts it in free TV, in German, but in free TV

TF1 reportedly isn't going to renew it's contract after this season. By extension, it is unlikely the TF1-owned Eurosport will continue their contract either for practice and qualifying. Al-Jazeera is launching two sports channels in France soon and is reportedly interested in the rights for F1 from 2013.

Abu Dhabi Sports is not affected as their rights cover the Middle East and North Africa. The Middle East/North Africa version of Al Jazeera Sports, therefore, will not broadcast F1.

Abu Dhabi sports 2, it's a free channel.

But I called the lead commentator last week and he said the situation is not good. I guess the channel is not interested anymore in F1.

Oh,Nooooo, Abu Dhabi don't do that, whatever you do just don't stop broadcasting F1...
I mean there are too many race fans in the region, it's growing, why should they stop it?! it is so very cruel to do that. may be it's financial issues or things like that
