Re: 2012 Formula One Discussion
Poor Kubica... Luck doesn't seem to be on his side in the past couple of months...

Many thanks for all the info, guys!!
Re: 2012 Formula One Discussion
Still sketchy, but he may have fractured his right tibia after falling on icy ground.
Edit: Kubica has re-opened the fracture in his right tibia - so recovery will be set back a few weeks.

Terrible looking accident in Montreal 2007 and rally accident last summer and now he slips on ice. Poor man. He really has some bad luckTreacle wrote:Poor Kubica... Luck doesn't seem to be on his side in the past couple of months...

Polish media suggest that it's only micro fracture.phil1993 wrote:Italy reports Kubica has broken his leg when he slipped on a patch of ice. More soon.
Re: 2012 Formula One Discussion
probably would not be harmonic looking but would be cool if the strips in the side were the colors of the brazilian and spanish flag, for each driver.
or, maybe, one side italy colors ans the other, driver's country colors

Kubica must be the unluckiest driver alive
Re: 2012 Formula One Discussion
Agreed. One side the italian strip and the other the brazilian/spanish colors.
Looks good though

I looked the video over and over again and to me the new Ferrari nose looks kind of aggressive. Without tyres it looks stupid but with tyres like a car with the attitude: "BE AWARE. I'M COMING TROUGH. NOW FU** OFF OR I KICK YOU ARSE". Misses viking horns though.Mar wrote:I admit, I don't like the way the new noses look like. I understand, though, that it is necessary. It's been pretty close already a few times during the last couple of seasons.

It remains to be seen whether other teams will raise objections to the idea on the grounds that it amounts to a movable aerodynamic device - this catch-all phrase has been used over the years to ban a number of devices that control the movement of a car's chassis.
But the FIA considers that this rule is not relevant as the device in question is a part of the suspension and does not contravene that area of the rules.
Sources have likened the Lotus system to a more sophisticated version of rising-rate suspension, where the stiffness of the springs changes depending on the amount of movement of the wheels.
Articles 10.1 and 10.2 of the F1 technical regulations are the rules that are relevant to this device, the FIA believes.
Article 10.1.2 states that any suspension movement must result "only from changes in load applied to the wheels" - which this does as the system responds to braking torque.
And article 10.2.2 states: "Any powered device which is capable of altering the configuration or affecting the performance of any part of the suspension system is forbidden."
But the Lotus device is not powered, but entirely passive.
Nor is it controlled by the driver, as one report has suggested, which would be illegal.

Many thanks for the info, guys! I read that Kubica had an operation in which a "metal nail "was put in ankle and that he has to have a cast for four weeks. Very bad luck.
I liked Ferrari only when Kimi was there! Now I just hate them! I dind't follow F1 for the two years when Kimi was rallying.

So It's true Jaime turned down reserve model!

He turned down that, he turned down the HRT drive... I really hope that means he has a very good plan as alternative!
