Ideal Calendar Schedule?

Montezemolo brought up a good point with only 8 of 20 races being European, and F1 has to keep it's heritage IMO, great circuits like silverstone, spa, nurburgring, monaco, monza just shouldnt ever go. But with bernie eyeing even more races in the usa and asia it doesn't look so good.

How would the ideal race calender look like for you, taking in account the percentage of how many circuits are on which continent? Lets say you have 20 locations to choose from and take into account that on all continents there must be at least 2 races. The minimum for europe races is IMO 8, musnt get any less.

For me it would be something like this:

Europe:
Monaco
Silverstone
Monza
Nurburgring
Spa
Barcelona
A1 Ring
Magny Cours

America:
Indianapolis
Austin
New York
Las Vegas
Brazil
Montreal

Australia:
Melbourne

Asia:
Singapore
Abu Dhabi
Suzuka
India
Russia

I did away alot of the asian races because I don't like those tracks, they're too sterile. If there is already a thread like this, sorry!

Ideal would differ greatly from realistic, so given tracks that would be capable of holding F1 races and without money being an issue, I'd go for this: (excluded Nordschleife and Le Mans because it's impossible)

Australia:
- Albert Park, Melbourne
- Adelaide Street Circuit, Adelaide

Asia:
- Suzuka Circuit, Mie, Japan
- Istanbul Park, Turkey (just in Asia)
- Marina Bay Street Circuit, Singapore
- Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia
- Buddh International Circuit, India

Europe:
- Silverstone Circuit, Great Britain
- Hockenheim, Germany
- A1 Ring, Austria
- Monza, Italy
- Monte Carlo, Monaco
- Magny Cours, France
- Hungaroring, Hungary
- Spa Francorchamps, Belgium

Americas:
- Interlagos, Brazil
- San Luis, Argentina
- Circuit Hermanos Rodriguez, Mexico
- Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal
- Watkins Glen, USA

I'd also try and go for an F1 race in Africa, just to make it a proper world championship. Probably a street circuit in South Africa as Kyalami isn't that good...

Where do I sign to get rid of Valencia?

Worst thing is that, because of political reasons, the Spanish GP that will fall out of the calendar is Barcelona.

Barcelona would be okay if that went back to pre-2007 layout. As it is, it is totally ruined by the chicane.

I'll keep bahrain on my list if they switch to the 2010 config permanently. Otherwise, the track is too boring imo.

Adelaide is a good one. But for me, a race at new york would be so cool to watch. Not that I live there or anything but it would look cool on tv I think haha. But it must not be some kind of valencia.

I'm just fine with this list. Only that I'd change the one of Austria (not Australia :P) for Motorland Aragón (Spain).

Watching the prerace at Singapore this year, everyone was commenting how Singapore had become a favorite track. It's not my favorite, but it could be a lot worse.

Valencia is the worst! I think Hungary could be made into a good track with a few modifications.

And talking about tracks, why doesn't the FIA put the Portuguese GP back on the calendar?

bring back magny cours, A1 Ring, istanbul, and drop the bore-fests. Hungaroring and bahrain shoud definitely go. And tbh tracks like monaco and yas marina arent that exciting, theyre only there because of their heritage and settings/location.

Ah yes, Aragon is a nice track; much better than the current Spanish duo.

Bahrain 2010 spec, but with the tighter 3rd corner akin to 2006 (corner in 09 alonso overtook trulli on the outside banging wheels)

japan-suzuka and/or motegi
singapore
China-shanghai
korea

Europe;
San marino
monza
spa
belgium
Silverstone,
Magny Cours
Catalunya pre crappy chicane/Jerez
A1 ring
Nurburgring
Istanbul

America;
Canada-gille villenuve circuit
Brazil-interlago
laguna seca (totally unrealistic, but I love it).

Anyway. For me, United states doesnt have a good drive for F1. Indy is shite in its current rendition. Id ditch monaco because im not interested in scalextric races. f*** the scenery, thats why abu dhabi has gone and also I was underwhelmed by the boredom of india.

Anyway, personally the calendar should start either in America or Asia, go through europe and then onto the other IE From America to europe, europe to asia, going to the first country closest to america in europe, and the last european race being closes to the firts asia race. This means a point to point season on the world map, cutting alot of logistic costs from going asia, then europe, then asia, then america, then asia. Do all american, all europe, then all asian races.

Otherwise, im not interested in america because F1 is wasted there. Canada, is my favourite track aside from Imola, which I want back on the calendar so very, very much.

Don't forget, that is also where Heidfeld overtook Alonso round the outside without KERS in 2007

And also, why do you guys wanna keep Singapore? I would dump it right after Valencia.
