Tonio Liuzzi has vowed to hang on to his seat at the Toro Rosso team beyond this season.
The Italian driver was singled out as a star of the future when he burst onto the scene in 2005, but Faenza based STR is thought to be seriously considering an all-new lineup for 2008.
And with David Coulthard and Mark Webber already confirmed at the senior team Red Bull Racing, 25-year-old Liuzzi said he would be happy to stay for a third consecutive year at the outfit co-owned by former Grand Prix winner Gerhard Berger.
"Projects for the future we still don't know, but I am happy to stay with Toro Rosso because I think the team is growing a lot," he told ITV, amid speculation that Berger and Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz may be keener on pairing Sebastien Bourdais alongside Sebastian Vettel next season.
Liuzzi added: "Of course I would love to stay with Red Bull - they have handled me since I was 20 years old and started my car racing career – but you have to look forward.
"Red Bull overall is doing a great job but we have to make a faster car that can give us the chance to win races and move forward."
Liuzzi also said his lingering paddock reputation as a regular party-goer is wrong.
"For sure in the first year of Red Bull we had a lot of parties and I was a Red Bull driver so it was easy to think of me as a party man but we're into another era now and I'm in a different situation," he insisted.
"I try to avoid everything that could possibly distract me from my racing because my goal now is just to win races. For sure, like all young people, I like to party, but racing comes first and I am 100 per cent focused on that."

two words: "no" and "chance"
bourdais and vettel would be better and berger obviously wants better drivers than he has now

Doornbos finished first in Mont Treblane

speed will race off to champ car.

Re: Liuzzi targeting third season at Toro Rosso
I like Liuzzi's efforts in the STR, but I think Speed leaves a lot to be desired and I don't think he will be there next year.
