Kimi commented about next NASCAR race - as usually "No decision has been made, nor do I know when to make the decision" haha: http://racingnewsflash.com/content/r%C3 ... scar-plans

But where the hell was/is Red Bull for Kimi's NASCAR racing? :n

Kimi should be able to pull out a sponsor and a relatively good team for Nationwide/Truck for next yr as long as he commits on a full-time basis, but I don't think he has a chance to pull for a good Cup team, esp he doesn't have connection with Chevy car teams.

Fox:

"Kimi Raikkonen: Things appear quiet on the Raikkonen front, and many are surprised that he did not secure a ride for Sonoma. However, the management group on the NASCAR side has made recent inquiries for Watkins Glen and Homestead."

IT’S KIMI TIMEEEEEE!!!!!

Kimi Raikkonen is the 2007 Formula One World Champion. His quiet demeanor, ability to handle any kind of race car and his never show emotion attitude has earned him the name of Iceman. A nickname emblazoned across his helmet, cars, and much of his official merchandise. Since leaving Formula One at the end of 2009 after a lackluster season with Ferrari, Raikkonen has been enjoying himself driving in the World Rally Championship. But as ever, a racing driver is never satisfied. Raikkonen decided he wanted to try NASCAR and rather than jump in with the big boys in the Sprint Cup series, Raikkonen earned himself a seat with Kyle Busch Motorsports driving their second car which was entered for his first race at Charlotte Motorspeedway in the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 for Friday May 20.

With a poor showing in two practice sessions and qualifying run, Raikkonen lined up on the grid 30th position with no where to go but forward. Surprisingly, after a rough early stint in the race, Raikkonen began gaining positions and finally wound up 15th place when the chequered flag waved.

When asked in the media room whether he would continue driving in the NASCAR series, Raikkonen responded in typical fashion “If I completely suck here, there’s no reason to come back.” True words Kimi, but you didn’t suck. Raikkonen is entered for a Nationwide series race at Charlotte on Saturday May 28 and according to reports, a Sprint Cup drive may not be far behind.

So here are the photos from the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 and NASCAR Sprint Cup practice sessions.

(Many thanks go out to the Charlotte Motorspeedway media professionals, photographers and Sutton-Images for the opportunity to represent them.)

I keep having my problems with the use of prepositions in English language  . Who has made the inquiries? Räikkönen's people or the Nascar people?

Sorry for asking such a silly thing, but I really don't know it

Actually I thought it was an odd sentence when I read it too  but I think it's Raikkonen's NASCAR management (Todd Hirschfeld, etc.) that made the inquiries.

Robby Gordon: Räikkönen will drive Sprint Cup!

Thursday, 23 June, 2011

NASCAR driver Robby Gordon confirmed recently to ESPN that Kimi Räikkönen trashed his number one car during a testing period on May. Gordon was supposed to drive it next weekend at Infineon Raceway, in Sonoma. Should Räikkönen not have wrecked the car, it would have been likely that he would have raced in the Sonoma Sprint Cup GP himself.

Gordon also said that the car Räikkönen wrecked has been at the shop the last few weeks. Räikkönen still wants to race in NASCAR, and Gordon presumes that this will happen at Watkins Glen on August 13, at the very latest.

So its gonna be a mix of Ravishing Black and White for Kimi Raikkonen this season
