That was unexpected, but Kolles again proving he prefers working with those he knows..

Bit of a surprise, but he'll surely be better than Yamamoto.
Re: 2011 Formula 1 Season - Official Discussion Thread
considering that he was 1 sec slower at FI simulation, it is perhaps disappointing that he got the seat. Hope he gets to top speed soon

I wouldn't bank on it...cformula1 wrote:Bit of a surprise, but he'll surely be better than Yamamoto.

Liuzzi to HRT?

We're getting into F1 Rejects territory here. Both are slow, but Yamamoto did bring his car home regularly, while Karthikeyan displayed neither pace or reliability at Jordan. Narain's slightly quicker, but more likely to crash.cformula1 wrote:Bit of a surprise, but he'll surely be better than Yamamoto.
Frankly though I doubt this matters, as I don't see HRT being on the grid this year. HRT bring to mind an American term that starts with cluster.

http://www.f1zone.net/viewtopic.php?f=1 ... 39#p237239Wow, just read from TS everything isnt so self clear in Macca either. Lewis was close to be sacked last summer from Macca after summer brake! Has to hurry now but will tell more later.

Our sources also reveal that, before the summer break, Hamilton spent plenty of time to always chatting with the engineers of all, since he erakoitui Spa and spent most of their time in their yksityiskopissaan McLaren representation spaces.
Was reportedly very close to that, Hamilton would have had to leave the team. His attitude is certainly not helped one iota of a team that at the same time also saw a fall in Button's World Cup battle further and further away from the tip.
Time will tell how Hamilton and McLaren continued coexistence. He has spent the winter in much by himself, and Woking factory nobody knows exactly what to expect from a man actually in the Valencia tests, beginning a new era.

I find that very hard to believe about Hamilton being close in leaving McLaren. For what reason? And he knows all the other competitive seats are taken. Ferrari would only consider him after Alonso. But Italy loves Alonso. Redbul is investing in Vettel. And Merc want a German champion. I doubt it very much, especially as he's McLaren's child.

http://www.theracedriver.com/2011/01/na ... -progress/The Racedriver.com also understands that India’s other leading driver, Karun Chandhok, is on the verge of agreeing a third driver deal with Tony Fernandes’ Lotus Racing – a contract that would include two races appearances in 2011 (at the Indian Grand Prix and also at the preceding Korean GP).

Kolles confirmed Senna will not be a part of HRT this year
& I'm starting to be encouraged by this news:

HRT might not be a disaster IF they can get a half-decent second driver (Liuzzi?) Remember in 2010 they had the same package all season basically and little upgrades, along with rookies and useless guys. A bit of improvement would easily put them in Virgin territory (and that can be interpreted in two ways )

Chandhok has ruled himself out of HRT's plans for 2011 as he does not want to race for them, despite the offer of a seat. He said Narain's appointment was good for India but he wants a seat that can offer him more - he is speaking with 2 teams.
