How do you think the championship will end up?
How do you think the championship will end up?
How do you think the Top 5 in this years WDC will finish? Do you think Webber will win? Will Alonso continue to dominate and win the championship? Will Hamilton come back from his 2 DNFs to win?
We can compare between now and how they actually finish at the end of the season.
As it stands (with 4* races to go):
1. Webber 202
2. Alonso 191
3. Hamilton 182
4. Vettel 181
5. Button 177
*assuming Korea goes ahead
I think this is how the championship will end up:
1. Webber
2. Hamilton
3. Alonso
4. Vettel
5. Button

Re: How do you think the championship will end up?
I dont want this to happen, but I guess Alono would win the championship The logic is simple win the first race of the season -> win the championship. This has been true for the past decade, only exceptions being 2003 and 2005, where DC and Fisi did win the first race of the season, but couldn't manage to win again in that year.
1. Alonso
2. Webber
3. Hamilton
4. Vettel
5. Button
I hope its Hamilton or Button.

Re: How do you think the championship will end up?
It will eighter be Webber or Alonso. They have proved they can deal with the pressure. Button too, but he is too far back I think and not fast enough. Hamilton and Vettel are making mistakes under the pressure. Personally i think Webber is the 2010 world champion.
Re: How do you think the championship will end up?
Lots of hope towards Webber as well. He's probably at the peak of his abilities this year, and finally has the car to prove it. Unlike some others who were basically child prodigies that blasted into stardom outta nowhere, he's worked his way through the ranks, starting with small, uncompetitive outfits and then unreliable midfield teams that didn't allow him to deliver. He's basically the opposite of Vettel, who did show incredible and precocious talent but whose bad luck and blatant inexperience under pressure has badly hurt his championship charge.
Webber isn't leading the championship by mere chance: he has kept his head when it mattered, and gotten the best out of his opportunities. He hasn't embarrassed himself with silly and costly mistakes since Australia, while everybody else beside Button have. Much like Button last year, he's won when he could, and kept his head when he couldn't.
Alonso has won the last two races from pole, but what will happen when things don't go his way? Because frankly I don't see any team or driver outrageously dominating the final few races. If he finds himself down in 5th or 6th during a race, won't he start overdriving and making mistakes? And isn't he almost certain to have to charge through the field at least once due to his engine situation?
Hamilton and Vettel can always bounce back, but they are 20 points back and haven't matched Webber's consistency so far. You can't rule out a battle to the wire but they'll probably lose anyway.
And Button is just too far back, and not in the right car. He's smooth and consistent but hasn't been able to outpace his opposition on a consistent basis, let alone obliterate it as Webber did in Barcelona, Monaco, Silverstone...
In conclusion I would say it's between Alonso and Webber, with a slight advantage (and personal bias) towards the latter. Vettel 3rd, Hamilton 4th and Button 5th.

Re: How do you think the championship will end up?
Let me brake it down:
1) Suzuka - Huge Red Bull track. Vettel dominated last year, the Red Bull will be the best car there with a handy gap to the other cars in my oppinion. My prediction is Vettel to win, Hamilton to finish second, Webber third, Alonso fourth, Button fifth.
2) Korea - The unknown. In theory the Red Bull should be the best car again, but I don't think it will be as clear as in Suzuka. Fernando is quite good at new tracks, so is Hamilton. My prediction: Hamilton to win, Alonso in second, Vettel third, Button fourth, Webber sixth.
3) Brazil - A clear Ferrari track over the last 5-6 years. Massa can be expected to drive a great home race as usual. McLaren really struggled on this track the last couple of years. Button seems to like this track and he had a great race last year. Hamilton just can't do anything right at Interlagos it seems. Prediction: Massa first, Button second, Alonso third, Webber fourth, Vettel fifth, Hamilton sixth.
4) Abu Dhabi - Clear Hamilton teritory judged on last year. A track hich the McLaren should like, Red Bull's downforce advantage will not come into great effect as on other tracks. Prediction: Hamilton for the win, Vettel second, Webber third, Alonso fourth, Massa fifth.
Based on the predictions, I have the following outcome:
WC Lewis Hamilton 258 points
2nd Mark Webber 252 points
3rd Sebastian Vettel 249 points
4th Fernando Alonso 248 points
5th Jenson Button 225 points
6th Felipe Massa 175 points
7th Nico Rosberg 146 points
8th Robert Kubica 133 points
Constructors
WC Red Bull 501 points
2nd McLaren 483 points
3rd Ferrari 423 points
4th Mercedes 194 points
5th Renault 153 points (133 Kubica )

Hamilton last year 3rd in a c**p car, starting from 15th or soblizzard wrote:3) Brazil - A clear Ferrari track over the last 5-6 years. Massa can be expected to drive a great home race as usual.
