2010-11 Silly Season
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
Remember that Ferrari still pay Kimi's 2010 salary. I reckon Renault can pay Kimi more than Red Bull/Citroen can
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
Good point! And that's why Kimi will be at Renault next year!!!
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
I found the article:saif wrote:they have Ant Davidson no?sleenster wrote:Mercedes never intended to replace Heidfeld after they let him go so that he could test for Pirelli.iceman1 wrote:will Mercedes get a new reserve driver?saif wrote:Nick Heidfeld will race for Sauber from the Singapore GP, replacing Pedro de la Rosa
De la Rosa says he is surprised.
http://en.espnf1.com/mercedes/motorspor ... 26053.htmlMercedes may not replace Heidfeld
It also says on his wiki page that Anthony Davidson is a simulator driver for Mercedes, not a test or reserve driver.
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
Also depends on what Kimi's asking price is, I think. Renault do not have the means to pay 20 million, if Kimi asks for that. I think the Kube's salary is about 7-8 million?phil1993 wrote:Remember that Ferrari still pay Kimi's 2010 salary. I reckon Renault can pay Kimi more than Red Bull/Citroen can
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
But if Kimi asks for $20m and Renault say less then it will probably be more than his WRC offer
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
Yea, true. So I guess we will see whether Kimi truly wants to stay in WRC, even if he doesn't get paid much.phil1993 wrote:But if Kimi asks for $20m and Renault say less then it will probably be more than his WRC offer
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
Whatever the salary, I think he'd rather fight for wins and podiums in F1 than keep crashing in WRC.
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
Or maybe he actually finds crashing in WRC more fun/interesting?
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
Martin Whitmarsh said that McLaren tried to sign Vettel for 2008 and that they will maybe sign him from 2013. I always thought the Button-Hamilton partnership would last a long time.

Jerome d'Ambrosio is set to drive in Friday practice at some point this season for Virgin, ahead of an anticipated 2011 seat

If Vettel has a choice between McLaren or Mercedes, I'd say he should go to McLaren.
Re: 2010-11 Silly Season
I believe Schumacher will retire at the end of this year.harrisv48 wrote:Me too!!!
