Remember that Ferrari still pay Kimi's 2010 salary. I reckon Renault can pay Kimi more than Red Bull/Citroen can

Nick Heidfeld will race for Sauber from the Singapore GP, replacing Pedro de la Rosa

De la Rosa says he is surprised.
will Mercedes get a new reserve driver?
Mercedes never intended to replace Heidfeld after they let him go so that he could test for Pirelli.
they have Ant Davidson no?
I found the article:
Mercedes may not replace Heidfeld
http://en.espnf1.com/mercedes/motorspor ... 26053.html

It also says on his wiki page that Anthony Davidson is a simulator driver for Mercedes, not a test or reserve driver.

Also depends on what Kimi's asking price is, I think. Renault do not have the means to pay 20 million, if Kimi asks for that. I think the Kube's salary is about 7-8 million?

But if Kimi asks for $20m and Renault say less then it will probably be more than his WRC offer

Yea, true. So I guess we will see whether Kimi truly wants to stay in WRC, even if he doesn't get paid much.

Whatever the salary, I think he'd rather fight for wins and podiums in F1 than keep crashing in WRC.

Martin Whitmarsh said that McLaren tried to sign Vettel for 2008 and that they will maybe sign him from 2013. I always thought the Button-Hamilton partnership would last a long time.

Jerome d'Ambrosio is set to drive in Friday practice at some point this season for Virgin, ahead of an anticipated 2011 seat

If Vettel has a choice between McLaren or Mercedes, I'd say he should go to McLaren.
