Yeah, it will be very interesting to see what the fast quali times are. I know I've complained on other threads about Bernie slowing the cars down over the years, but I must say, some places have seen some really quick laptimes this year. (remember Vettel in Australia?)

yeah, i dont care much how the cars look as long as they are faster than last years cars, the faster the better, i think the 04 and 05 cars were the fastest, but 2010 cars on some tracks even faster

Vettel asks: Don't boo to Webber

22.07.2010 12:30

Sebastian Vettel has asked his home audience to behave in a correct manner towards Mark Webber in the upcoming German GP.

- I hope that all the drivers are treated with respect and that there won't be any offensive banderolls or whistling, Vettel told the German Express-magazine.

yes i know but i mean for free practice and qualify sessions, i know its impossible to reach those times in race
even on low fuel, the 2010 cars are 10 or 15 kgs heaviers. The previous minimum weight was 605kg and now it's on 620kg, afair.

I also am on the side that always want more performance from the cars and I hate to see the engine limitation, for instance. The today's engine is too underpower for the RBR aero because famous challenging corners like Campsa(Barcelona), Turn 8(Istanbul) and Copse(Silverstone) were taken flat out by the Red Bulls even on FPs with hard used tyres and more fuel onboard. These are not corners anymore for the Red Bulls but if we had more engine power, it wouldn't be flat out.

Talking about the 04 and 05 cars, they were not the fastests. They had faster times in some circuits(Turkey for instance) because of more engine power but on an aero track like Suzuka, the 2006 cars were the fastests.

I imagine a 2006 or 2008 car with the DDD and slick tyres, they would be mega in the corners.

Hockenheim always generates good overtaking with several chances per lap.
Rain has been forecast to affect this weekend's running of the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim.
Severe weather, including heavy downpours, have been predicted to be delivered by a cold front on Thursday and Friday. Rain is also possible on Saturday, with only a low chance of scattered showers forecast for race-day Sunday.
The forecast is not good news for teams hoping for a dry three hours of practice on Friday, particularly given Bridgestone's extreme allocation of the hardest and softest compounds for the race weekend.
Bridgestone's Hirohide Hamashima confirmed that weather at the German venue will be crucial.
"If it is hot then the super-soft will be a challenge to manage for stability and durability. If it is cold then ensuring the hard is in its temperature operating window will be a tough task," said Hamashima.
