Ferrari is missing Kimi and Brawn

Ferrari is bugged with the penalty Fernando Alonso got since they think it's too harsh.

According to Auto Sprint -magazine the Ferrari-fans are already crying after Räikkönen but an even bigger loss is a coolheaded strategist like Ross Brawn missing from the pitwall.

Finnish tabloid claims: Ziigmund and Kimi Räikkönen "played for hundreds of thousands"

A Finnish tabloid magazine is claiming that Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies and the race car driver, former Formula One World Champion Kimi "Iceman" Räikkönen recently played a huge poker game where hundreds of thousands were on the line. Ziigmund and the Iceman say they did play but just for fun.


The Seiska magazine claims that Räikkönen challenged Ziigmund to the game in Helsinki in June and that the F1 champion first won approximately €500,000 from the pro before losing it back.

Another Finnish tabloid, Iltalehti, got hold of both men for comments and they deny the rumor about the sums in play.

"Sure I play poker, but those claims are not true," Räikkönen is quoted as saying. His agent Riku Kuvaja adds that the stakes were "a few euros" maximum.

Ziigmund's comment is along the same lines. "Nah, it was just for fun. Let's say we played just for matches," Ilari said.

Räikkönen's agent says his client is not particularly experienced in poker. The two men have met before, but this was the first time they played together.

Iltalehti draws rather colorful comparisons between the two men, saying they both have "a close relationship with alcohol" and listing some of their drunken feats: Räikkönen has fallen off from the deck of his boat, taken out his penis at a strip club and physically attacked Michael Schumacher, while Ilari "once lost 1.3 million euros in one day because of a hangover".

Naturally, if Ziigmund had the chance he would probably love to play for "hundreds of thousands" with a rich amateur player like the Iceman, whose reported income in 2008 was 30 million euros - not quite as much as Guy Laliberte's but plenty for a friendly game with a real poker pro.

somebody scanned the orginal iltalehti-article here on the most hectic time on last weekend (same post as kimis comments on haugs visit) Wolfie (I think) told shortly was it was about but is it possible to have a translation for the whole original article now when it's not so hectic anymore?

FERRARI IN CRISIS - THE TIFOSI ALREADY MISS RÄIKKÖNEN

Ferrari-fans aka tifosi are disappointed in their team's drivers performances this season. According to Autosprint's bloggist Alberto Sabbatini, they have already started to scream for bringing Kimi Räikkönen back to Ferrari.

- Many have written to us telling that they miss Räikkönen but in reality the lack of strategy is missing from the pitwall. You can figure out his name yourself, Sabbatini writes and refers to Ross Brawn.

Sabbatini slashes hard at Ferrari's current race strategist.

- Chris Dyer has for a long time shown his limits: he has no imagination, he can't improvise or read situations and he always screws up the strategies.

He thinks that Ferrari blamed FIA unecessarily after Silverstone. Sabbatini reminds that Fernando Alonso could have avoided a penalty by letting Robert Kubica ahead of him again.

- The main responsibility is Alonso's and Alonso's only and the one giving him wrong advice from the pitwall. Everyone has to carry their responsibility for their mistakes, starting from the driver. He started like a rookie, ruined his team mate's race by causing a tyre puncture in the first corner and couldn't time his first pitstop with the pitwall correctly, Sabbatini critisised.

Even Italiaracing-magazine critisised Räikkönen's replacement in this week's issue. "Alonso screws up everything", was the head title and this was harsh to read for the Spaniard's fans.

- Alonso was supposed to be the superman who doesn't make mistakes. A man who's motivation was going to get everybody to forget the unwilling Räikkönen and who was supposed to give the right technical advice. They said that McLaren came back as a winner thanks to his advice in 2007 until the evil Hamilton ruined everything. Thanks to him Ferrari was supposed to start smiling again in each GP just like during Schumacher's era.

- Everybody said this during the winter. We have seen this smile only in Bahrain's opening race. After that all kinds of things have happened: failure in timing during qualification, jumpstart, bad starts, rude overtake of team mate when going to the pitstop, crashing team mate in the first corner, qualification never taking place because of crash in practice, ignorance about rules...

Italy's biggest sport magazine Gazzetta dello Sport asked on their website who's fault Ferrari's current crisis is. Of almost 11 000 voters 36,6 % blamed the pitwall's actions, 27,2 % FIA's bad decisions, 18,3 % the drivers mistakes and 17,9 % was unsure about the F10-car's development.

Hi Andy welcome this is a really great place to be, I watch Dave just wish it was a bit longer though.

Thanks for that Wolfie really good reading. On PF1 Kimi is leading a Poll (even lthough many of us are no longer voting) on who would be doing best at Ferrari him or Alonso this year, it just shows how popular and respected he is it and makes me feel really proud. When I think back at all the criticism he had to take last year and how Alonso was going to be the great 'Saviour' of Ferrari, I cant help but laugh every time they make a mistake - of course some insist that the car is the problem this year not the driver
