2010 has been such an AMAZING year! The cars are beautiful again, lesser teams are evolving, there are plenty of talented drivers, lots of innovations like the duct, and polemic moments too!

I think Iron Maiden can explain it better:

I hate most of 2010, the new c**p points system, the sh*t all overtaking, the drivers not saying anything bad about their teams, and how corporate it is now.
F1's Golden era was 1976-2000, their were some good seasons afterwards like 2003, 2005, 2007-08.
2009 was the worst season i've ever wstched & 2010 isn't far off. The only reason 2010 has been anyway good is because of off track drama & Schumacher coming back. Just face it.

Well, I think the only real BAD tracks are Abu Dhabi and Singapore. The latter still has a beautiful cityscape because of the night, so at least the eyes get pleased!

Maybe Tilke tracks look too artificial, I know, but the circuits themselves are (most of them) good. It's a matter of getting used to it, probably in the future everyone will miss some tracks we have today.

F1 now reminds me of 1989 with all the backmarker teams miles off the pace, like you can actually match up teams from the '89 season to the onse now (Hispania = Eurobrun, Virgin = Rial, Lotus = AGS.) And i'm sorry, but the golden era for drivers was the 1980's. I'm a massive Schumacher fan, but I can admit that although he is one of the greatest of all time, he was not in the GREATEST era of drivers. The greatest era for drivers was the 1980's. Senna, Prost, Piquet, Rosberg, Jones, Bellof, Alboreto, De Angelis, Watson, Laffite, Mansell, and the list go's on and on.
oday has a good mixture of drivers is quite good, but far from the best.

The proverbial 'golden era' probably lies somewhere between 1980 and 1994. The '80's saw the rise of the turbo and cars developing over 1,200 horsepower, as well as the introduction of computers and other technological innovations onto the cars. The early part of the 1990's saw aerodynamic and technological innovations reach their zenith in my opinion, due to the perfection of the semi-automatic gearbox, the fly-by-wire throttle system, traction control, and active suspension systems. To me, the cars from 1990-1993 are the most technologically advanced racing cars ever due to their immense arsenal of technical gizmos. Some say that the electronic assists made it easier for drivers and placed more emphasis on the computers rather than drivers' talent, but I personally love technological innovation and the development race between the teams. For better or for worse, 1994 saw all of these wonders banned, and thus began a unilateral FIA war against the teams to make the cars slower. Personally, I'd like to see the Williams FW15C take on this weekend's polesitter at Silverstone. I'd bet the '93 Williams goes faster, even if just marginally so.

Seriously, I want some über-wealthy collector (or maybe even an F1 team) to bring out a front-running early '90's car and put it up against an '09, '10 car head to head. I think it would be a very telling exercise.
