5 seconds penalty for all drivers under investigation over SC rule breach - apart from Glock who gets 20 seconds. More soon

let's not forget that at the moment the situation with LH happend everyone was preatty much occupied with the Webber's situation. I am not defending stewards at all. Just trying to say that it is easy to say 'it is 20 laps after'. When exactly the stewards noticed LH breach? at the same moment as Alonso or a bit later? Of course they should've noticed it when it happend, but in reality: did they?
And this brings us to another/same questions: if they didn't notice it at firsts, then they took less than 20 min to investigate, but at the same time why they didn't notice it when it happened?
OR: if they noticed it immidiatelly why it took so long?
BUT: all this questions about the qualities of stewards, not about McLaren or LH or Button or others.

P.S. It is possibly the first time in this season when Alonso wasn't lucky to gain more than he theoretically could under the SC. Fernando, be a man, take it on the chin :<>:

Code: Select all

The stewards may impose any one of three penalties on any driver involved in an Incident :
a) A drive-through penalty. The driver must enter the pit lane and re-join the race without stopping ;
b) A ten second time penalty. The driver must enter the pit lane, stop at his pit for at least ten seconds and then re-join the race.
c) a drop of any number of grid positions at the driver’s next Event.
However, should either of the penalties under a) and b) above be imposed during the last five laps, or after the end of a race, Article 16.4b) below will not apply and 20 seconds will be added to the elapsed race time of the driver concerned in the case of a) above and 30 seconds in the case of b).
It seems there's no such thing as 5 second penalty :lol:

About Hulkenberg's incident, did the tyre puncture then rip off the bodywork or the exhaust explodes ( with the bodywork ) and damage the tyres ?

Sorry Alonso, you weren't quick enough today mate. Take some advice from your former team-mate and concentrate on performing better, instead of constantly whinging like a spoilt child.

Nico Hulkenberg: "It was going really well and points were definitely possible today. I was running in tenth before the safety car came out. It wasn’t good timing for me because I had called in a flat spot on my tyre half a lap earlier and wanted to pit but by then it was too late. Combined with having to stack, I really lost all my places there. When the safety car came in I couldn’t keep Alonso behind me, but after that it was quite a processional race up until something caught fire on my car. That obviously ended it for me."

Sam Michael, Technical Director: "That was a good performance today by both cars, and definitely a step forward. Unfortunately, an exhaust failure cost Nico a possible point today and we will be investigating the cause back at the factory. The team is now looking forward to its home race at Silverstone and consolidating the step in performance we’ve made with further upgrades for the FW32."
