European Grand Prix 2010
Re: European Grand Prix 2010
I was shocked to see Mercedes not even reaching Q3, as the car was generally a top five car in the hands of Rosberg in the practice sessions. To go backwards like that is puzzling.
The Red Bull looks supreme in the slow speed corners, its stability under braking is clearly visible even compared to the Ferrari and Mclaren. I was surprised to see Hamilton in third, because Alonso looked to be ahead of the Mclaren's and challenging Red Bull in Q1 and Q2. If Alonso can somehow get past Hamilton at the start, it would be interesting to see if he could challenge Red Bull and show the speed that he showed in all sessions until Q3.

I'm wondering what are they doing in headquarters in Mercedes? Why they don’t update the car in every race like Renault? They don't have the money?
Re: European Grand Prix 2010
Well the team is based in Britain, not sure it is just me, but the Mercedes has a lot of entry and mid-corner understeer. The car seems reluctant to turn into corners, this was especially evident in turn 14 at this track where both drivers have to almost had to persuade the front end to tuck into the corner, then, they cannot get back on the throttle as earlier as drivers in better cars can because of the understeer.

Webber and Red Bull fined €10,000 in Valencia
Formula 1 governing body the FIA has announced that Mark Webber and Red Bull Racing have been fined €10,000 (£8,300) for being released into the path of another car in the Valencia pit lane during qualifying.
Webber qualified second on Saturday, narrowly losing out in the pole position battle to team-mate Sebastian Vettel, although the unsafe release in Q2 was announced by the FIA after the session.
Although Webber breached article 23.1 (j) of the sporting regulations, it is currently unknown as to which car the Australian was released into the path of.

Optimistic of a good race tomorrow. Haven't watched any of the practice or quali sessions but I think McLaren & Ferrari have the pace to challenge Red Bull.

For my own sake, I hope it's absolutely terrible because there's no live coverage in America for this one...phil1993 wrote:Optimistic of a good race tomorrow. Haven't watched any of the practice or quali sessions but I think McLaren & Ferrari have the pace to challenge Red Bull.

Re: European Grand Prix 2010
The opening lap of the GP2 feature race was manic, around half of the field was wiped out at the first turns. If the safety car is deployed tomorrow then it will be interesting to see what strategies are played out, track position v pitting for fresh tyres but perhaps being in traffic.
Re: European Grand Prix 2010
Red Bull 1-2 today.
Re: European Grand Prix 2010
Ferrari haven't yet unleashed the full potential of the B spec version of their car. They still have set up issues so 4th and 5th is promising for them. McLaren are pleased with their result as they didn't bring an upgrade and Lewis is on the clean side of the grid. Their race pace should be very good as well.
I hope Webber runs into Vettel today. I hate it when Vettel is so arrogant after claiming pole; he can do the finger thing after taking a win but not pole.

Re: European Grand Prix 2010
Both races this morning the man in 2nd got off the line far better, and was into the first corner, first. Not only that, there's been a first corner pile up every raceMitsuro Sano wrote:Vettel can run into himself lol . I hope Webber or Hamilton win this race!
