Oh wow, that was very thrilling to watch. Imagine how thrilling it would be for the driver. No wonder the Kimster loves rallying so much. It may not be the best sport for the fans to watch on TV. But if they can relate to what the driver feels, they can totally understand Kimi's liking for rally. As someone who has come to appreciate rally because of Kimi, I would say my next best goal is: Try for a championship in WRC. A second or third WDC in F1 is only a second option for me.
I agree once again, Dheeb.

Kinga, you're a sweetheart. Thanks for making that special treat for us :)

Beautiful Ice-Ludy....
Some may say that Raikkonen fans worship him and get carried away.....
But this is the way this man has entangled us with his talent, his extreme character, his questionable personallity...
And we are all such different people, so there must be substance to all this....

And when thinking of that they weren't even going for the victory in Italy.

I took a look at the Italian Rally della Lanterna -thread (thanks to Momo) and saw that co-driver Danilo Roggerone also wrote there and he had some interesting things to clear up:

10 GULFI Luca GULFI Luca ROGGERONE Danilo CITROEN XSARA A8/WRC ZEROSETTE RACING A.S.D.

Citroen Junior Team had a test. To prepare for upcoming WRC-rallies on tarmac.

Their intention was not to win the race and/or do it with AT LEAST 5/6 minutes difference to others. I don't think that they had anything to prove to anyone.

These gentlemen arrived, did three recces, THREE recces on roads they had never seen before and they are here compared to drivers who have probably drove HUNDREDS OF TIMES on those roads for years... But of course this doesn't count....

Did you know that the tyres Ogier and Räikkönen used were completely different and slower than those tyres others used in the race? We are talking about a difference of over 1"/km ...

I think that they had a great race and both Ogier and Ingrassia are beautiful and humble just like every other member of the Citroen Junior Team is, Räikkönen also, who has a very different nature and people can have their own opinion about him.... but I believe that he has shut up many people who believed that he would be somewhere behind or crashed at some point...
And he also said that rallying people read the forum and he wouldn't be surprised if Citroen Junior Team would have their test next year in Holland, based upon how they were critisised on the forum.

And also reminded that Citroen brought two different C4-versions for tarmac. On Thursday they used soft tyres with Kimi's setups and Ogier again used hard tyres. They used two compounds, DH and DS, and both drivers used them during the race which was a TEST for them.

Momo, could you please correct if I understood something wrong

Next year marks the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 and earlier today a bit of interesting news came out. Haven't dug around to verify it yet but it's late for me and I'm tired....

Courtesy of Scotty G:

"Robin Miller reported today on Indy local radio that both Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne told Randy Bernard at the Prelude, that "they are in" for the Indy 500 next year. They exchanged cell numbers and will discuss further at later dates.

Kyle Busch said he wants to do it, but might wait until he wins a Cup championship. Jeff Gordon said he probably wouldn't be competitive and wouldn't want to try it now. Those are the only 4 drivers Randy spoke to at the Prelude. And Randy told Robin on the way home that he was more confident and encouraged after speaking with them face-to-face, then he was previously.

Robin said Randy wants to talk with a couple of Cup owners (mentioned Rick Hendrick) to guage interest from their side and what it would take to make things work.

Robin said one thing being bantered about is taking the "HONDA" name off of the Cup driver's cars and the badging name off of their engines.

Said there are several things that still need to be worked out, but thinks it will get taken care of."

I am a Hoosier still at heart and I already planned on going next year. This is a definate plus. Time to get on the ticket list again! If AOWR has any shot to gain back even a reminant of what it had back in the USAC and CART years it had better get with the program.

I would like to propose a sponsorship change between Smoke and Carl Edwards. Tony, get your ass on a Subway diet and get back in a turd Honda. JPM, ever heard of the Long Beach Diet? You too, I want the WHOLE grandstand of Columbians that showed up for the USGP to be at the 500! (Note to self:if so leave wife at home....aye aye aye carrumba!!! They call those CLOTHES?!?) There would be all kinds of cross promotional possibilities involved with the Cup boys playing at the 500 too.

Anyone here going? I'll be in turn four again!

Well there's some food for thought if anyones interested. I realize I'm a Yank in a Euro world! I'll be back later. If I don't get SOME sleep I'll be making lawn mowers instead of helicopters....
It's just a FORUM!!!
