I think Schumacher will be more known than Alonso, when they retire. Driving for Ferrari alrady guarantees a number of fans, moreover making them win the championship after 19 years.

Too early to tell... Alonso is still VERY young. He might win another WC or even several more... for the moment, Schumi is in a league of his own.

They both will be remembered by different people... But everyone will remember Schumi whether its because they call him a cheat or because they think he's brilliant...

Alonso still has time to make a bigger name for himself, but he'll be remembered as the man that brought F1 back to the top in Spain... AND the guy that stopped Schumi...

for me especcially michael... but even in general i think michael... how could you forget about him, his name appears under just about every record in the book!

alonso will be known for beatig michael to the championship in 05 and being lucky in 06.

personally i dont want to see alonso win another title in his career because that would put him in the same league as senna and other greats! i just dont think he is that good or that well respected!

-i dont just say this because im a schumi fan, as far as i know this is most peoples opinion!

I think Schuey because I can't see Alonso matching those records and I agree with all the points WDC makes. I also think Schuey will be remembered because of all the controversy in his career and also the fact he turned Ferrari around. No other driver could change a team like Michael did.

unless you have got 05 and 06 the wrong way 'round

michael wasn't a contender for the 05 title
fernando was not lucky in 06, michael made fatal errors
