If Schummi was still in F1?

Post by Flavio_F1 » 14 May 2007, 15:29

What would be happening if Schummi was still in F1?
1) He Would be the leader of the championship
2) Raikkonen would be in other team, than Ferrari?
3) Massa would still be winning like now?

Hmmm... Well, I think Kimi would still be at McLaren OR perhaps at Renault.. Massa would be 2nd driver for Ferrari b/c as we have seen thus far this year he definitely is successful for Ferrari. I think M.S. would be top 3.

Theres no way Kimi would be at Ferrari, and Massa would be taking a back seat as Schummi got what he wanted. I think he would be leading the championship

Agreed Julie, Kimi would not be at Ferrari for two reasons:

1) Kimi would never play second fiddle to Schumi

2) Ferrari is "controlled" by Fiat who sell more equipment (cars, trucks & agricultural equipment) in Brazil than anywhere else. It's also a growing market where Fiat wants to dominante. This is why Barrichello was at Ferrari for six years and why Massa (as long as he doesn't do too badly) will be there for maybe another six.

Oh and to answer the question...
If Shumi were driving, Jean Todt would have remembered to pay the electril bill on BOTH F2007s. ;)

Massa is part of an original Ferrari program whose success is based largely in part to Schumacher's reign. Kimi may be the soft-spoken, bad-boy, hot-shot that Ferrari hopes to fill the gap in Schumacher's absence, but as we have seen Massa is #1 @ Ferrari and should be treated as such. Kimi seems to be plagued with the same reliability issues that dogged him at McLaren. Who knows... Perhaps Kimi's driving style has something to do with it.

i agree with philly, kimi is not yet that comfortable with the F2007 even though he won in Austrailia and improved lap times during practice..

I agree with the group on this. Kimi would not be driving the red car, and I don’t think that Hamilton would have been racing this year. Kimi would have stayed on with McLaren and would have fought is out with Alonso. But hey, why are we talking about this, we have a new era to watch!

Kimi had been signed to Ferrari since 2005 so he WOULD have been in Ferrari...

I don't think Hamilton would be here though, because it would mean that Massa would want a seat and after his performances some of last year I think McLaren would have taken him instead...

I would love to have seen Schumi and Kimi at Ferrari.

Having said that, the non-believers among us would never accept Schumi dominating over Kimi, instead blaming Kimi's lack of performance on a Ferrari "conspiracy" to keep Schumi on top

... and to be honest I would've had my doubts: Schumi knows not what "equal equipment" means.

imo:

1)he would be driving for bmw
2)kimi would be at ferrari
3)massa would still be winning but bmw would likely have been on the podium by now
