We mullered them, could have scored 6 or 7 if we could put away chances. As it is Arsenal and Man U fans should be thanking us on bended knee, we've done them a massive favour today.

Champions League - Bayern appeal Lyon postponement
Bayern Munich want UEFA to seek the reversal of the decision to postpone a domestic game involving Champions League semi-final opponents Lyon, claiming it gives the Ligue 1 side an unfair advantage.

The French Football League postponed Lyon's match against Monaco at the former's request on Thursday.

The game, which was scheduled to be played on April 24 between the first and second legs of the semi-final will now be played on May 12.

Lyon wanted more time to prepare for the return leg.

"I will ask our sports director Christian Nerlinger to demand from UEFA to reverse the French league match postponement," Bayern coach Louis van Gaal told Friday's edition of Munich's tz newspaper.

"The French federation thinks they can give Lyon with this decision a better chance of reaching the final and I think they are right. But UEFA must monitor such things because this not fair play anymore."

Lyon face Bayern in Munich on April 21 before hosting the German club at their Gerland stadium on April 27.

While Lyon now have a free weekend ahead of the return leg, Bayern must visit Borussia Moenchengladbach on April 24 in the Bundesliga.

Van Gaal, who is in his first season at the Munich club, said he wanted both teams to have the same amount of rest.

"If UEFA are organising competitions then they must make sure the same conditions apply for everyone," said the Dutchman, whose team are also chasing a domestic league and Cup double.

"It is clear that it is not possible that all play (their league matches) on the same day but postponing a game is a completely different matter. It should not happen," he said.

Bayern have reached their first Champions League semi-final since winning European football's leading prize in 2001.
Man United had Chelsea right in between the QF clash against Bayern and it was not postponed.

For me it's Arsenal first, then 'anyone but United' - so if Spurs don't beat them next weekend after beating us and Chelsea, then I might have to jump off the nearest cliff

Nadal trounces Verdasco for sixth Monte Carlo title
Rafael Nadal thrashed Fernando Verdasco 6-0, 6-1 in Sunday’s all-Spanish final to win the Monte Carlo Masters for the sixth straight year and end his title drought.

The second-seeded Nadal clinched his first title since the Rome Masters in May last year  by overpowering the sixth-seeded Verdasco with a stunning display of attacking tennis that sends out a stern warning to his clay-court rivals.

Seriously I'm happy for him, finally a title after 11 months, it's very long for a player like this

South Africa qualifies automatically for the tournament it was awarded the rights to host the tournament, defeating Morocco and Egypt. There are many powerful teams but Germany is one of the three most successful national teams at international competitions, having won a total of three World Cups and three European championships and Lahm is one of world football's of the German team.I think the matches will be exciting enough to watch.

Re: Snooker

Yesterday I watched the first-round match between Stephen Hendry and rookie Zhang Anda. After leading 4-0 and 7-5, Hendry missed a lot of the important shots and the score went to 9-7 for Zhang, who played very well for a rookie (and much better than Ding Junhui played when he was a rookie).

When Zhang needed only one more frame for the win, he made a mistake and then Hendry came to the table with a totally different attitude. I immediately got very excited at that moment to see him so confident that I had no doubt he would take the match to the decisive frame and he did more than that by winning. It was such a great day with a superb race in the morning and a great last snooker session in the evening! !yahoo:

I hope it's a great match tonight, it all points to being really exciting but then those are always the ones that actually end up being quite dull, aren't they?!

Come on, Inter!!! :C:

Great game by Inter.

Barca is a 1 man show, you stop Messi, you stop Barca.

I think Inter did well in stopping Xavi for the majority of the game as well so that helped a hell of a lot too :)

It was an awesome match by Inter, I really hope they can hold out at the Camp Nou, it would be a great result if they could get to the final. They easily should have been 3-1 up at half time so could have won this match 6-1

I missed the third Inter goal and a bit after it though - am I right that I saw Barca sub Ibrahimovic for Abidal? So an attacker for a defender, right? Was that a tactical thing or was he injured? Because I thought it strange after having just gone 3-1 down to take off a striker

He took Ibra out. Where is Henry? Where is Abujan? who will score for him, Piquet?:

I predict 2 - 0 for Bayern :D

I predict 4:1 for Bayern. They destroyed my favourite team (Hannover 96) 7:0 on Saturday. They are absolutely on form and will use the home advantage :)
