This is sad. Hopefully Team Lotus will get the Malaysians onboard with F1, otherwise I think we should stop going there. There are too many countries racing and I don't think too many people would miss Malaysia. Especially the Malaysians by the sound of it!

most locals there aren't really interested in formula 1 (at the moment).....i believe the organizer's main target are tourists > visit malaysia for the race, then stay at the petronas twin towers.

Malaysia is shaping up to a rainy one this week ...every day at race time the heavens seem to open. Has to happen doesn't it? Let's just hope the drivers get the chance finish the race this year!

give it free rather than let it rot in the closet, so to say.......anyways, the freebie getters could buy a couple of beers, sodas or chili con carnes plus some merchandise items on the sepang venue. plus, it's a bit of a turn off to see almost empty grandstands and seats

I really wonder why Bernie keeps visting locations (Abu Dhabi, this year Korea, next year India) which have no tradition in motorsport and as the recent examples prove, will possibly never have one either? Obviously he only cares for the money...

but giving it out free is ridiculous/ how will that help?

Long term it won't help. But the IndyCar race on Monday was well attended after they gave free tickets after it was postponed on Sunday. So better for Malaysia not to have empty grandstands.

its the countries which have no involvement in F1which get poor ticket sales, so saying that I think Korea will be the same but India might have good crowd seeing now that Force India is doing good and we have Chandhock.
