See their press releases the last year or so and also look at how Stefanovic tried to enter F1 before with those 1997 Lola cars that were 13 seconds of the pace and didn't change gear. They really aren't professional at all.

Maybe Bernie should just stfu about Campos & USF1

usf1......f1 badly needs some north american exposure/audiences, and not blow it big time as they did before.

In all fairness to the present teams, I still would like to see all the teams as singular construction teams, like Ferrari, Renault and Merc. It's really disappointing that over the years we've lost Jaguar, BMW, Honda and Toyota. But there's hope with VW/Audi rumoured, and with McLaren maybe manufacturing their own engine, hopefully other's will follow. Wouldn't mind seeing a Citroen or Nissan F1 team? Even Aston Martin and a Ferrari B team dubbed Fiat would be awesome for motor sport fans.
So if weather Campos or USF1 make it, doesn't make a difference for me when watching the race, although I still hope they'll be on the grid for the job sake of the people in their teams.

The simple facts are: 3 into 2 doesn't go, and with Stefan looking the most ready I'm expecting them in Bahrain if either USF1 and/or Campos pull out. Campos we know are in financial difficulty and as for USF1 we've had conflicting reports all round, with some saying they're in disarray and others saying that they're on track. Someone will lose out big time, and it's unclear who it will be.

The FIA has clarified the rules regarding teams missing races, after a series of reports that Campos and US F1 were going to skip the first three rounds of the championship.
Stefan GP has already begun sending equipment to Bahrain in the hope that one of the teams won’t make it to the first race and it can take their place. From a sporting and regulatory point of view, each Team that has registered for the Championship is obliged to take part in every event of the season. Any failure to take part, even for just one Championship event, would constitute an infringement both of the Concorde Agreement and the FIA Regulations.

Campos to be rebadged as VW?
Bernie Ecclestone and Jose Maria Carabante have joined forces to rescue the Campos team, Spain's Diario AS newspaper reports.
The deal will reportedly see team partner and president Carabante take over from Adrian Campos and lead the outfit to its Bahrain debut next month, before the German car giant Volkswagen steps in for 2011.
AS said the team intends to change its official name from Campos Meta 1 prior to the start of the season.
The Valencia headquarters will remain for now, and the multi million euro debt to Italian car constructor Dallara will be paid.
AS, explaining that the touted investment of A1 chief Tony Teixeira never materialised, said former Force India boss Colin Kolles will be team principal.
The newspaper said Bruno Senna's contract as race driver will be honoured, and that the hopeful Serbian outfit Stefan GP will instead need to look to assume USF1's official entry.

Interesting development. This could just be an escape route. I'm far from Bernie's biggest fan (for one, he needs to embrace the internet) but he does have great negotiation skills.phil1993 wrote:Campos to be rebadged as VW?
