this is a poorly compiled top 10 IMO. there is no way that Kubica should be in the top 10. and mark webber too is a bit too high. jimmie johnson perhaps and sebastien loeb could have been the top 2

I do find it hard to compare drivers from different forms of motorsports, but here it goes:

10. Bianchi
9. Hirvonen
8. Rosberg
7. Franchitti
6. Hulkenburg
5. Hamilton
4. Vettel
3. Johnson
2. Loeb
1. Button
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

a quick stab at a list. motogp would throw some more complexities in the mix. i'm not so familiar with gp2 dtm eurof3 f2 etc as we don't get them here in the other hemisphere so settle down. all about 2009, nothing to do with career quality of racer past or future.

1 vettel (still made some errors but overall amazing. i'm a webber fan but this guy has the goods.)
2 button (excellent start and finish. wonky late middle season due to car. smooth and calm.)
3 loeb (smashes everyone in his field but does not have to compete against f1 drivers in f1 which is the pinnacle of motorsport no question.)
4 hamilton (suffered his first really bad car but fought back in an alonso way)
5 rosberg (outshone his car and team mate. winner of best of the rest in terms of teams for sure.)
6 webber (fanboy yeah but he came 4th WDC won twice and fought SV JB RB LH FM NR and gave as good as he got. he can always get better and will.)
7 massa (was never in schumacher's shadow for too long and that requires some performance. outdid KR. prob in top 5 WDC without hungary disaster.)
8 barrichello (great season overall with a great car. copped it a bit from the team but held his cool mostly to score.)
9 johnson (same reason as loeb)
10 alonso (thank god he's back in a car where he'll get the chances he deserves and has earnt. 26 points to 0 for his team mates. nothing like the close toyota battle.)

not that true.
Ferrari got his first podium thanks to Kimi, not Felipe, and this was before Hungary, obviously.
They were quite even up to Hungary, although Felipe seemed to have the momentum just when he had his accident.

After Germany:

Massa 22
Raikkonen 10

:O KR only came good when FM was gone so Massa probably would have won a few GPs

Yeah, but Massa was still superior to Raikkonen.

Massa's race in Monaco was much better than Kimi's even though he finished behind him. He was stunning in the middle stint of 26 laps, nearing qualifying pace but he was held up by traffic so all that effort was squandered
