Buddh International Circuit - India (Scheduled for 2011)
Buddh International Circuit - India (Scheduled for 2011)
This race has been delayed until 2011 but they've finally got round to revealing the design of the circuit holding the race, the Jaypee Group Circuit in Greater Noida.
Here is the full plan of the area.
Designed by Hermann Tilke of course. What do you think?

The circuit looks interesting, lots of slow corners with the fast corners hidden. One of the corners (furtherest to the left) looks like Turn 8 at Istanbul. I'll reserve judgement until a race is run though.shailf1 wrote:This race has been delayed until 2011 but they've finally got round to revealing the design of the circuit holding the race, the Jaypee Group Circuit in Greater Noida.

Track looks interesting indeed. Not what we used to think about Tilkedromes... But to be honest, I don't think we'll see much action on this track.
Re: Indian Grand Prix (Scheduled for 2011)
looking at the main plan it looks like clockwise, but i am not sure
Re: Indian Grand Prix (Scheduled for 2011)
it might alternate between clockwise and anti-clockwise each lap
Re: Indian Grand Prix (Scheduled for 2011)
That would be pure weirdness (and pure insanity at the same time).sdutt wrote:it might alternate between clockwise and anti-clockwise each lap
Re: Indian Grand Prix (Scheduled for 2011)
As long as it's not around a marina. Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Valencia (and soon to be South Jeolla) have ruined the unique nature of Monaco of being sea side
Re: Indian Grand Prix (Scheduled for 2011)
hope its not based around a marina too. or at night, or with some cheap gimmicky feature (underground pit exit ahem...). I can imagine this- 'The Indian GP! the first DAWN race in F1!'
Re: Indian Grand Prix (Scheduled for 2011)
A dawn race in India would start in the early hours of the morning European time, meaning less TV viewers, and Bernie wants more, not less, TV viewers. But I can see an inaugural middle-of-the-night GP though (that would be primetime Saturday night- good for viewers).sato113 wrote:hope its not based around a marina too. or at night, or with some cheap gimmicky feature (underground pit exit ahem...).
