New Teams
New Teams
Hey guys I am really interested to see whether people are going to be supporting the new teams next year. I am a Brawn GP man myself, but I really want to support one of the new teams as my second choice. I don't know if any other people feel the same way, but supporting a team from day one seems pretty cool. Iv'e already excluded USF1 and Campos and tossing up between Manor and Lotus. I'll probably wait for the driver line ups before I make my decision, I can't wait for next year.
Re: New Teams
i am going to support Lotus and the new senna, next year is going to be extremly great with such drivers/teams and linups.

Re: New Teams
[mod]To other mods: Since this thread is focused on the issue of support rather than news about new teams, I'm going to let this one stand rather than put it in the 2010 Discussion. Agree?[/mod]
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.
Re: New Teams
With this global crisis, are there any teams, like in other sports, who aren't going to present themselves nest year?
(I think I heard something about this, or am I confusing with Rally?)

Re: New Teams
It's possible, but the economy is getting better so chances are all (except maybe USF1) will be in Bahrain.kukapt wrote:With this global crisis, are there any teams, like in other sports, who aren't going to present themselves nest year?

Re: New Teams
Frankly I'm expecting all four of them to consistently hog the back of the field, perhaps with their more experienced/talented drivers sometimes putting up a brave fight, maybe even scoring points under special circumstances (rain, changing conditions...). With the pack so close together, existing teams will definitely have the edge over.
Who knows, though, I may be dead wrong, so mark those words!

Re: New Teams
They look disorganised from what I've seen, and that they aren't being based in the UK (but have bases in the US and Spain) it wouldn't surprise me at all if they don't make it to Bahrain.phil1993 wrote:Why are people so sceptical about USF1?

Not sure, but I sort of hate Americans, as 'they are born to be the best' and that kind of sentencesphil1993 wrote:Why are people so sceptical about USF1?

Re: New Teams
Try living in Britain and hearing the phrase "best in the world" TOO many times a year.JoostLamers wrote:Not sure, but I sort of hate Americans, as 'they are born to be the best' and that kind of sentencesphil1993 wrote:Why are people so sceptical about USF1?
Plus, the US does have quite a cultural difference in terms of motorsport. I think in some ways, that could hurt them, although of course, the mechs and techs will likely be competant veterans.

Re: New Teams
But USF1 is run by a Brit and an American...
I think it'll be close between Manor and Campos

Re: New Teams
Manor has a good driver. I think with Timo Glock in their team they will be the best new team. I am a bit disillusioned with USF1 because of Jose Maria Lopez. He's not good enough for F1 and they just want him because of his sponsors. Good drivers are very important, especially for new teams!

Re: New Teams
That's true, but F1 is looking pretty 90s. Pay-drivers may come into fashion with more indie teams out there.Edi96 wrote:Manor has a good driver. Re: New Teams
I have doubts that Sauber will make it to the grid, and if they don't I reckon Lola otr Prodrive will most likely take their place.
