Williams to announce Barrichello on Friday
Translated from Portugese to English
Translated from Portugese to English
http://esporte.ig.com.br/grandepremio/f ... 97132.htmlThere is more to talk or negotiate with A or B. With or without the world title this season, Rubens Barrichello leaves Brawn after the GP of Abu Dhabi. The Grand Prix can confirm that the Brazilian will be the Williams driver in 2010.
Barrichello hit his trip for a year for the team grove at the end of the week's Italian Grand Prix, won by him, inclusive. The official announcement will be made, probably this week, before the GP of Brazil.
Your partner should be the German Nico Hülkenberg, current GP2 champion and pilot testing of the team. Hülkenberg business is by Willi Weber, who has looked forward to promoting his pupil. Weber also handled the Michael Schumacher. Barrichello will serve both as team leader and with a kind of "teacher" for the 22 years.
The veteran will be the fourth Brazilian to run the team of Frank Williams: before him, Nelson Piquet was champion in 1987, Ayrton Senna played two tests before he died at Imola in 1994, and Antonio Pizzonia made nine GPs in 2004 and 2005.
Rubens comes to Williams more than 15 years after almost replace the team after Senna's fatal accident at Imola. At the time, Nelson Piquet worked in hiring the driver then Jordan, who was also sponsored by Arisco. The transfer, as we know, has not happened, and Rubens was the team of Eddie Jordan by the end of 1996, when he went to rookie Stewart.
After three years, one pole and three podium finishes in the team champion Jackie, Barrichello moved to Ferrari. In Maranello, spent six seasons alongside Michael Schumacher, was runner-up in 2002 and 2004. Rubens changed the red team by promising Honda in 2006, but after a year market - although it lower than expected - the team came two years at the end of the grid.
If the end of the Honda seemed to represent the retirement of Rubens, the emergence of Brawn was the resurrection of the veteran. After starting well below the partner Jenson Button, he returned to the title match. The signing of a contract with another team, however, should reduce the already small chances of overcoming Button in the last two races of the season.

Maybe it is because people see more future potential in Kubica...

Re: 2010 Season Discussions: Line-ups, News and Regulations
Heidfeld has a point, he was 25 points behind Kubica in the drivers standings last season, Heidfeld was alot better than him in 07, Kubica has not performed well in a struggling car this season. I don't think there is much difference between Kubica and Heidfeld, I can see why Kubica get's speculated with the top teams, Mclaren, Ferrari, he is fairly young, he has won a race and he was fighting for the championship in 08.
Heidfeld should be getting intrest from teams such as Toyota and Williams, the only reason he probably won't, is he keeps himself to himself and isn't seen on the camera much, and isn't noticed.
Kubica will just be another Rakkionen, one season doing great and the next doing c**p.
Just my Opinion

Re: 2010 Season Discussions: Line-ups, News and Regulations
I don't think Kubica is that great really, yeah he's fast but he's no Hamilton, Alonso or Vettel. Put him in a good car (2008) and he'll do well, but he can't excel in an average car or do fantastically well in a scrap, think of Oz 2009... I mean, I'm not knocking the lad but he's had 3 seasons in F1 and needs to up his game.
Re: 2010 Season Discussions: Line-ups, News and Regulations
Exactly my point, I'm sure he will do well at Renault then move to a Mclaren or Ferrari car after that.
Kubica and Vettel will move to Ferrari as teamates one day. Early predictions ftw!

I don't think he's bad. But I don't see him in these big teams. Maybe a switch to Toyota in the future ?
Re: 2010 Season Discussions: Line-ups, News and Regulations
I reckon Heidfeld/Toyota would be a good combination.Tom Vandenhove wrote: Maybe a switch to Toyota in the future ?
Toyota need a good driver.
Heidfeld needs a half decent team.
Together they could be a good match.
Re: 2010 Season Discussions: Line-ups, News and Regulations
Yea, that's he was always the best in Mclaren. Because he was doing, as you said, next season after another "c**p".Coopz wrote:

I'm sure Hamilton will be another Villeneuve - won the title, and then was doing c**p, as we see this year (sorry, but I must )
Just my opinion (couldn't stop that also).

Both Hamilton and Raikkonen ae highly talented drivers.Jacobss wrote:Yea, that's he was always the best in Mclaren. Because he was doing, as you said, next season after another "c**p".Coopz wrote:

Some people really should not have right to speak about F1 - they are simply ignorants and forget the seasons pretty qiuckly.
Don't forget today to pray to your Hamilton-God.

Lewis has proven me wrong and matured this year.
Raikkonen is very talented and is unbeatable on the right day (which is Sunday more often than not).
However comments like I have put in bold I find to be unnecessary and more often than not create flame wars.
Just my opinion.
