Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
Man, Kimi is staying at Ferrari!!! Come on! McLaren wouldn't risk him at the cost of Hamilton moaning about something... Alonso would get owned by Massa so that's not a option either...
And I love Kimi at Ferrari! red suits him best!

Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
I have a feeling that Kimi's position isn't so strong inside the Ferrari team. He wants to stay there next year, and it would be nice if so but I'm not so sure.
Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
I think the future of Kimi on ferrari will depend on Renault-Singapour cheating or not.
If Renault has cheat, Renault will leave F1 and Ferrari will try to have 3 cars on the grid (Massa-Alonso-?Kimi or Michael)
But if renault has cheat and Alonso knew that Piquet will crash, Ferrari will not want for sponsor to take a cheating driver.

Santander to announce Ferrari deal
By Jonathan Noble Tuesday, September 8th 2009, 16:15 GMT
Ferrari will announce its sponsorship deal with Spanish banking giants Santander at Monza on Thursday, confirming a deal that was first revealed by AUTOSPORT in July last year.
Ferrari is to hold a press conference ahead of the Italian Grand Prix with Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo and the president of the Bank of Santander, Emilio Botin.
The Santander alliance comes amid continued speculation that Spaniard Fernando Alonso is also on his way to Ferrari, although it is not known if an announcement about the Maranello team's 2010 driver plans will be made at Monza this weekend.
Ferrari has already stated that it is waiting for Felipe Massa to be fully fit for the start of next season, and it has a contract with Kimi Raikkonen too - although there is a chance this could be bought out.
Santander entered Formula 1 in 2007 with the McLaren team, on the back of its signing of Alonso, and its contract with the Woking-based team runs until the end of this year.

Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
I think Alonso is going to Ferrari in 2010. Otherwise why the Santander fuss? It's sad, but it appears as if Kimi is leaving. I'd personally like to see him stretch his Formula 1 wings and make a comeback/drive next year with some other team, but if he goes, I reckon he'll be gone.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.
Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
With Brawn, Kimi will be in a very good car and will want to beat Ferrari.

Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
I don't really think Brawn would suit Kimi though, it's too British. Brawn will probably keep their lineup...
Kimi will be seeking a contract that allows him to avoid PR and have fun on rallies, only Red Bull could offer that sort of deal. McLaren are people who love PR, so no way Kimi will get far there again. The British media also relentlessly criticized Kimi's private life at times while driving with McLaren. Same could be said for Brawn. They probably can't afford Kimi's asking price.
Red Bull can afford Kimi, but that would be at the cost of who?
Alonso wouldn't be the best deal for Ferrari yet I believe because, it simply wouldn't work out unless Alonso fully understood he wouldn't get number 1 status. Do we really see that happening...

I totaly agree. Kimi is off to WRC next year im so sure that if I'm proved wrong you can twist my nipples and call me Colin.TwistedArmco wrote:I think Alonso is going to Ferrari in 2010. Supporting Maclaren...STILL...
Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
Nothin make me happy rather than hearing kimi will stay at ferrari on 2010
Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
Well, this Santander deal is news. Alonso might be making his way to Ferrari after all. If Kimi won't be driving there next year I suppose he'll go to either Brawn or McLaren even though they are british teams. I don't think Renault is an option.
Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
I don't think rally is an option for Kimi either. He's good, but I don't know if he can get payed at the amounts he is now. He has to compromise. But if he goes to rally, I won't follow him anymore. I don't find rally as interesting as F1.
Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
I see Kimi in F1 for the next 2 years.
Rosberg to Brawn - Kimi to Mclaren

Re: 2009 Kimi's last season?
And now autosport are reporting LDM saying, whilst alonso will drive for ferrari eventualy it might not be next year
