Felipe Massa Injury - Fisichella to race to the end of 2009

Post by phil1993 » 25 Jul 2009, 18:52

I think we should talk about his injury and how (if) safety can be improved here rather than in the GP thread

Who would you get to replace him assuming he cannot drive for a few races
When do you think he can return?
Can anything be done to improve safety?
Should Brawn get some sort of penalty or is it just a normal failure?

Maybe you should start putting sources to these unconfirmed reports.

Penalty for Brawn sounds quite silly as finding a scapegoat isn't the most important thing right now.

With the Gene or Badoer thing: I choose Badoer as his chances were with poor cars and he did well, Gene got good cars (Williams a few times) and did badly

Let's hope not, no one deserves that. That would be really terrible! But of it's better for his recovery...

I think Luca Badoer should replace Massa. He did alot of winter testing so he should be really familiar with the car. I'm also pretty sure that Massa willbe out for the rest of the season. I'm just hoping he still have his fast drive because you're never the same after an accident like that.

I will stop watching F1 if Brawn GP is penalized for this incident...enough said.

From Canadian Press
Officials at the AEK military hospital said Massa will be kept sedated on a respirator overnight in the intensive care unit.

Medical director Peter Bazso said at a news conference that "Massa's condition is serious, life-threatening but stable." Bazso and chief surgeon Lajos Zsiros said they expect Massa to be awoken on Sunday.

Massa underwent surgery one hour after arriving at AEK hospital at 3:20 p.m. local time, the doctors said.
