That is correct For example Hamilton last year. Hit the wall with his right rear wheel, and luckily still managed to finish first!blizzard wrote:I don´t think, they will end up with minus points. I expect them to challenge for the win come Monaco. McLaren have always been the best team in Monaco, all the years. Even when Ferrari dominated F1, McLaren scored wins in Monaco.
And by then McLaren´s new aero package should be working.

Hamilton was a minute ahead of everyone at 1 point of the race, no luck!Majkel wrote:That is correct For example Hamilton last year. Re: Lie-Gate - McLaren to receive another penalty?
OFF TOPIC: Actually the largest Hamilton was leading by was 40 seconds, and that wasn't because he charged through the field on merit, more because he gained a free pit stop by the safety car coming out right after his crash, allowing him to be heavily fueled and make one less stop than the two behind while not losing many positions. It wasn't lucky in the way he definately had the pace to win, but it was in the way he gained his place back with extra fuel and new tires, and a better strategy, all earned by crashing.joostlamers wrote:Hamilton was a minute ahead of everyone at 1 point of the race, no luck!
All in all, Hamilton gained about 15 seconds on the two behind, given the extra pitstop they needed to make, which is respectabl, but hardly a minute. The luck came in crashing and surviving.
ON TOPIC: I think Dennis' resignation/retirement has nothing to do with "lie-gate" whatsoever. I would like to see anyone (here's looking at you, Daily Mirror) explain to me how the two concepts could possibly be linked.

Funny how they know the decision before the council has even been assembled

yes you're right, we are 13 days (12 days from the appeal) away from the outcome of the appeal. But it's a tabloid eyAzShadow wrote:Funny how they know the decision before the council has even been assembled

It´s Bild, don´t believe what they publish. It´s like The Sun or even worse...
Re: Lie-Gate - McLaren to receive another penalty?
It would have to go some to be worse than the Sun...I don't believe anything saying what the punishment will be, its mostly nonsense.
Re: Lie-Gate - McLaren to receive another penalty?
I think McLaren will have to pay something like 10 000 000 to the FIA
Jean Todt, Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne, Michael Schumacher = DREAM TEAM

Re: Lie-Gate - McLaren to receive another penalty?
the fine is not what they are worrying about... its a possible race ban or point loss.... they can take the monetary hit but not exclusion because the sponsors will get pissed

Sponsors are already showing their hands when it comes to the FIA ruling next week... good possibility of the team having to fold if they get banned
