More important for 2009: Driver or Car?

Undoubtly the car, even the best driver can't win with poor car (he would have to be extremely lucky). At best he can contribute to improving the car slightly (Vettel in '08), but consistent winning is simply impossible.

But that has to be counted as abnormal situation ... and you don't need fast car to win in rain ;)

no one can win a race with a slow car but it takes a skilled driver to wheel a fast car in the rain to a win... Senna, Shumi were always known for their exceptional rain weather driving skills.... i guess Vettel showed he could do it too last year in a junior team car

2 average drivers first and second in the world title because of the new rules. Easily the car

I agree, no doubt it is the cars. In some ways A1 is good in the way that the driver makes all the difference. Though button is good i feel like it is hard to say that he is the most talented driver on the grid.
