SOPA is unlikely to pass though.

Say hi from me to SOPA
SOPA
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-16642369
This is the worst news I read for the past 10 years.
And it seems that even the recovery of legitimate, non-pirated content, will take a very long time, IF it ever happens at all.

I don't think it means much to f1zone. Firstly SOPA is US legislation and f1zone is on British server or at least my Netcraft toolbar tells so. News says SOPA is now stalled.hamilton10000 wrote:i was wondering what will happen to this website if sopa is successful
SOPA and PIPA Shelved But Is ACTA Unstoppable?

If the law comes maybe it will not be so drastic. Secondly there already are anti-piracy laws in EU and opposition against SOPA is strong in Europe.
Isn't there already rule in f1zone to not upload any material violating copyrights. Quoting news media is ok if the source is mentioned. Press and TV does it all the time and somethimes they don't even tell the source. Giving a link to a site with videos like youtube is not illegal and I don't believe such laws against it will ever come. Piracy laws are pushed forward by music and movie industry and maybe by Bernie who threatened to sue his daughter if she uses "Formula One" as the name for a perfume
In Finland ISP operator Elisa got a court order to block few Pirate Bay's ip addresses. Ruling has been thought ridiculous here since those addresses are old and no longer used by Pirate Bay. So if existing legislation doesn't work there surely will be new laws but they must not limit normal freedom of people.
