Generally I try my best to just take each day at it comes. It really depends on what it is though. If it's an ex girlfriend then I find the best way is to move on ;) If it's something else then yeah maybe a few drinks in good company would be great.

I try to concentrate on things that are pressing for me to do immediately. Take things as they come, and eventually time will construct a suitable buffer between you and the issue. Depending on what you want to forget however, you may need more or less time.
