There's a popular christmas song in Britain which goes:"I wish it could be christmas-every day".It was made sometime in the 70's,and is always played on nostalgic shows about christmas

Bah Humbug! :p

Or rather, I'm not anti-christmas, or anti-everyone-else-having-fun, I just find that it depresses me and makes me see the worst in the world and in our societes. New Year (with no shaky religious foundations, no obligation to fund several corporations and no stupid pseudo-traditional decor/activities) is a much more valid reason to celebrate..

@swca92 - Jesus kid, how often are our opinions similar?? :laugh1:

Also TA you can't be more Scrooge-like than my Dad:He's not even put up a christmas tree.My Mum has a tree and lights and loads of food and fizzy drink,my Dad has no tree or decorations. He's bought a Wii though and some food...

We have no tree, no lights and no wrapping for our presents.. :p
It's possible that your dad and me are equally scrooge-like, although I think scrooge is an unfair way of describing someone who simply doesn't like Christmas, as opposed to opposing fun, which is what I actually consider to be a scrooge. :D

Fair point.I should mention my first present today was...The Lewis Hamilton "Up to date" autobiography.I speed-read it in an hour and its what I expected:A book designed for commercial success, not to be a thrilling read. There's no juicy anecdotes/opinions/interesting facts, and paints an image of Lewis being the new messiah. Also the FIA are not mentioned once in the whole book...
