Obama's not a socialist. The idea of Obama being a socialist was propaganda used by the Republians to try and scare off people from voting for Obama. He'll do his bit for the middle classes who have been hit by the credit crunch whilst helping the working class by lowering hospital treatment and cutting taxes for the poor.In my opinion Obama will be a great president, and do great things for the American people, whatever status or group they belong to.In Britain there's a sense of positivity about Obama,I've not met a British person who thinks Obama won't be a good president. In the house of commons today Labour and the Tories had a big argument about who had backed Obama and who really was Obama's British best friend.HandoZiZle wrote:NOOOOOOOO!!!! ++ to that! I hate it when people keep saying that Obama is a socialist. I really think that they should read the issues and where each candidate stands and one should make their decision as so. I do hope that the American people did the same thing as well...swca92 wrote:Obama's not a socialist. In the house of commons today Labour and the Tories had a big argument about who had backed Obama and who really was Obama's British best friend.

Re: US Presidential Elections 2008
I watched the King of the Hill episode today where Hank gets discouraged to vote after shaking Bush's hand in the 2000 election - it was a limp handshake.
Anyhow, in the episode, Luanne (Peggy's ditsy niece who lives with the family) decides to vote communist because the line for registration was shortest and the person running had a red tie, white shirt and blue jacket. Sadly, the way I see it, I believed that a substantial amount of Americans would've voted McCain because he was white and Obama was black. Thankfully, I was wrong, but I'm also afraid that this was a reverse Bradley-effect...
