There have been changes made to turn 8: There have been added 10 metres of extra off-track tarmac and an extra line of so called 'Techpro barriers' have been added, following this year's crash in the FIA GT1

Nicole Shitsinger better not turn up, I don't want another championship finale ruined by people related to the drivers getting more camera time than the cars on the track.

Virgin have arranged a press conference tomorrow at the Yas Marina Hotel regarding their future

Most likely they will announce the involvement of the Russian super car maker, and possibly announce their drivers for 2011...

Emanuele Pirro will assist the stewards this weekend

He drove 40 GP's between 1989 and 1991 for Benetton and Scuderia Italia. But he is known for winning Le Mans 4 times

So with Russian backing, are we to assume that Petrov will go to Virgin?

not so sure. they guy who runs the Marussia project has his business West-oriented. As he says if foreigners buy our curs than Russians will buy them too. Of course he understands Russian mentality. He is ex-racer himself and will be more interested in some results and sales outside of Russia first. Don't forget his road cars are using Cosworth engines. Then again - I don't know his funds and back-up.
Speaking of Petrov. I think everyone has realised by now - he hasn't got a support from Russian 'important' companies. Almost all major busines in Russia is either owned by the state (as a shareholder) or buy the guys with 'close contacts' in the government. So far he failed to attract those guys (apart from LADA, but this probably happened due to Renault involvement in LADA).
Those big russian companies are in: foorball, icehockey and even NBA these days. And in Russian GP. So far I see the situation as Petrov is not attractive enough for them. His 'papa' is just not in the top league of Russian political environment.

But we're in Abu Dhabi. If you watched that Moto GP race in Qatar when it rained so heavily the race was postponed, you'll know it doesn't rain but come down in torrential downpours that make showers in Britain look like a trickle of water.
